August 18, 2010 Great supermarket for beer. They have a wide selection featuring all kinds of American craft and foreign import beers. They will also have the occasional special release brews. Prices are a little above average, but they will often have some well discounted items. Good stop for the beer fan. |

December 28, 2007 I mean, it’s a shitty grocery store.... but they have a great bottle selection! Great place to go to get all the essentials... milk, eggs, cheese, toilet paper, Belgian strong ale... |

August 12, 2007 Reasonable prices in a standard NYC-style grocery store (i.e. cramped and dirty). Wider selection than you get at most bodegas in the city and nice people that work here, though don’t expect a lot of beer knowledge in the staff. |

November 26, 2006 Decent selection in a grungy neighborhood grocery store. A fair number of american micros. Prices are reasonable and everything can be purchased as singles. Not really worth going out of your way for, but if you’re in the area it’s worth stopping in to see what’s on the shelves. |

May 26, 2006 [ Updated October 30, 2007 ] Formerly a good beer selection (in the 90s), Pioneer’s beer selection is easily bested by Whole Foods. Further, the store is grungy. |

May 11, 2006 Typical cramped NYC supermarket, but they have just about every beer in the ratebeer top 100 plus lots of strange US and foreign exotics. The prices are very reasonable. |
