| jredmond (111), Manhattan, New York | | September 4, 2011 I’m told this is the sister bar of the Burp Castle next door which specializes in American craft beer. Selection is good, the bar is a bit cramped. The food smelled awesome. | | Leighton (227), London, England | | July 28, 2011 [ Updated July 31, 2011 ] Nice bar near two other good bars. Very decent line-up of American craft beers. Styles itself as a sports bar, tons of memorabilia on the walls. Have free food at certain times; was pizza on my visit. Not a huge place so I could see it getting crowded, but a good spot none the less and worth checking out. | | miketd (112), Cleveland, Ohio | | April 27, 2011 Tiny sportsbar in a decent location. Decent service with friendly bartenders and a good list of beers but It was insanely crowded the first time I went. The second time not as much. | | j12601 (214), Poughkeepsie, New York | | September 22, 2010 Neat little sports bar in a walk down location. Went here with puzzl, feedmecookies, beastiefan2k, JoeMcphee, and Rciesla one evening during the summer. It was mostly us the night we were there and I think we were outnumbered by TVs (which all had a different game going) in a room not a whole lot bigger than a studio apartment. Service was quick, staff was friendly, and the tap selection was pretty solid for such a small place. Seems like the sort of place that if I lived in the neighborhood, I’d love to swing by to watch a game and enjoy a few pints. | | JoeMcPhee (398), Toronto, ON, Ontario | | January 2, 2009 Finally popped into this place to meet up with beastiefan2k and his lady. Sort of a grungy sports bar kind of vibe. Not all that many taps, but there were a few things here that I hadnt seen anywhere else. They had a free tray of deli meats and cheeses when I was in that was pretty nice. Not a bad place to kill a few hours if you are in the neighborhood. | | bp (56), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | March 8, 2008 Went here last time I was in NYC. It is right next to the Burp Castle so it is worth hitting up both the same evening. I think they actually only had 6 taps with a decent selection (Victory Prima Pils, Bear Republic Racer that I can recall). They have a few beer type events and the night I was there (Fri) they had free pizza. The place is small w/ a bunch of TVs showing different sporting events. Nothing special if you are looking for rare brews but a good place to hang out if you want something decent. | | yobdoog (94), Woodridge NY, New York | | February 5, 2008 Not sure why this place has not been entered yet. It is sports bar / beer bar. The owner is a very nice guy and it is located right next door to Burp Castle and Jimmy’s. They have a ton of tv’s so you can watch almost any game that is on that night. They have beer events sometimes weekly or monthly and feature similar stuff that is on at other bars. One great thing is the free food during events. They always get pizza, heroes, cheesteaks, burgers or something and it is always free. Get on their mailing list to find out what and when. They have about 12 taps and they do rotate. I think they keep bud light and guinness on at all times but usually has Southern Tier, Captain, Boulder, Michigan, Denver or something of interest. Worth checking out if you love sports or are in the area and need a descent beer. |
