neighborhood basically sucks during the day. the place is a small front store that opens up somewhat. brews are a little dear though less so as it is NYC. pretty good selection and friendly enough staff. some good bottles and usually some good drafts. why don’t i just leave it at that.

Stopped in here with Joe, Zach, and some others after hitting up Get Real NY. A bit too dark, and the taplist was not incredible, but late at night and the service was still pretty friendly and quick. Ample space and we were able to relax and enjoy some full pints after a day spent drinking small samples.

Definitely the best place to visit before a show in the Bowery area. The bartenders are super nice and very knowledgeable. For the relaxers, the patio area is spacious and for the bar stood stoopers there’s a few tv’s at the bar playing sports. The selection of beers is solid and the prices are typical NYC.

Popped in for the Oskar Blues event during NYC Craft Beer Week. This is a nicely run place. Has a patio area in the rear. Only problem was the poles in the middle of the main bar detract from the flow and hide a lot of the lists on the wall. Also a serious lack of restrooms. Otherwise, a very nice place in the LES to pop in for a few or more. Eel River Old Ale was a nice suprise, the cask of Bam Weizen was worth the walk over.

Not a bad joint, I spent a couple of hours here in the evening as it was very close to the hostel I was staying in. Kind of half way between a trendy bar and an English pub, it seemed to pull it off fairly well. A good selection of beers in here, definitely plenty of brews I hadn’t had before. They had a cask beer on (Troegs Nugget Nectar Ale) and I had a couple of other tasty brews, the prices were fairly reasonable for NY. Unfortunately I felt compelled to leave once the DJ started playing, it was really loud and totally unnecessary, everyone I could see in the bar was trying to have a conversation, they weren’t interested in the ’music’. Still worth checking out.

We hit this place before a concert @ Bowery the other night. It was recommended by a buddy and we were glad we stopped in. The space in the front bar area is not huge but big enough. There were two flat panels with one showing Gone With The Wind and the other showing Beavis & Butthead...good sign. They had about 15 beers on draft and a bunch of bottles. The selection was solid, especially in this location. I myself had a Dale’s PA, Green Flash West Coast IPA, Cape Ann Fisherman’s Pumkin Stout, Sixpoint Sweet Action, and Jever Pilsener...all on tap. I believe they had two cask beers also. The food menu consists of the usual pub grub as well as some TV dinners. The service was decent but could’ve been a little better. I say the value is reasonable because I’m scaling it to NYC. Considering I paid only $4 for a pint of Dale’s, I’d say its definitely reasonable. Overall I definitely recommend it if you’re in the general area. We’re glad to have a watering hole now in the Bowery area. Solid spot for sure...

Now I totally have mixed feelings about this place. At first I enjoyed the few times I have been here with the previously mentioned descent selection of taps. Maybe it was the staff at the times, maybe it was company, maybe it was time of day, maybe it was the position of the moon I just didn’t feel it as I do some bars, translating to not my vibe. I mean especially if those images on the website is any definition of the steady crowd. I hear you can get happy hour prices after work which is a plus. Wait staff doesn’t always know the beers they are pouring so that was just truth spoken. Now someone seems to have a problem with fact that I have my own opinions and are offended because I like this place the least out of a 15 bar crawl. This is the update after posting my review. Only days after I posted this I got the angriest email from someone obviously affiliated with this establishment who didn’t like my opinions. Well it is exactly that, an opinion. I don’t expect everyone to feel the same as I don’t feel the same as others. As quoted from a friend. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. So now, I feel this place is even less worthy of going to than I did before.

GO GO GO to this place!! I’ll give you a ride if it comes down to that! Definitely my favorite beer bar in the city right now. Extremely cozy and welcoming, very hip - the owner’s have an impeccable taste in music and the bartenders/waitresses are gorgeous. Perfect stop for a great beer and mingling amongst friends and strangers! Fantastic garden in the back as well where you can chill and enjoy the crisp NYC night air or take all your friends and have a party. Definitely one of the top 2-3 places in the city to grab a beer, that’s saying a LOT.

Fantastic! Possibly the coolest bar in Manhattan - if you can find it. This is a chill, Williamsburg-esque hipsterbar. Attractive waitresses. A hilarious menu formerly featuring TV dinners (salisbury steak - 1 and a half pounds of food! the menu screams, tongue in cheek). Sadly, the TV dinners have been replaced by chicken fingers - WTF! There’s a handpump, and plenty of Sixpoint, Captain Lawrence, and Belgians. Some recent brews available were: Deus, Hofbrau Munchen Dunkel, Brooklyn Coney Island Lager. Perhaps 50 beers, I’d guess. Beer garden in back. One of NYC’s very best to compete with Billyburg’s top contenders, Spuyten Duyvil, Barcade, Diamond, Gutter and Wells Ales.

Small local in the heart of the Lower East Side, rather difficult to catch up. Good furnishing, rather cured and unusual. Discreet assortment of beers (not many ones on-tap however). It does not have many places to seat and the counter is short and in proximity of the entry. The staff is not particularly helpful (they not serve medium pints) but at least the Stanton Publick it’s not absolutely crowded and not noisy in the afternoon.
