andycapone (2), Delaware does not count - explanation | | May 13, 2012 When Two Stones opened a year ago my only hopes were that it stayed open! Not only did it stay open; but, other places upped their beer game. The beer selection is beyond compare. The food is very good. The staff knows beer. Although the staff knowledge has dropped a little as the place has grown. I rate the ambiance as average because it really depends on when you are there. The bar area is almost perfect! If you are in the back area, well...not so perfect. You feel away from the action. The addition of a new location should help this out! | eekam (2), Maryland does not count - explanation | | April 12, 2012 Probably my favorite local pub.
The beer selection is great - they tend to have a nice rotation of beers, so you can always try something new. Some of the beers tend to frequent more than others - you can get an Allagash White most days of the week. A beer can be a bit pricey. They can range from 3-6 dollars for an 8 oz. 16 oz can range from 5.50 - 10 dollars. However, I find the price worth it for a good beer.
The food is excellent. I’ve run into a few items I don’t care for, but I’m rarely disappointed. Like the beer selection, the menu has new additions and changes monthly - with favorites always available.
The wait staff tend to be knowledgeable and fast, but if it’s a busy night, they can disappear for a few. Also, have a back up beer chosen, kegs tend to kick fast around there.
Down sides are the size of the place. It isn’t large so waits can be long and the seating at the bar fills up. Weekends and special events do pack the house, so if you plan on going at those times, get there before 8 or call ahead. | Bilk (3), Newark, Delaware does not count - explanation | | March 29, 2012 Nice place with a very nice beer list. One of the best in the region. Kind of tight space. Waiter was very knowlegable. Price is on the high side for the region but the selection warrants the cost. Many beers are served from firkins which keeps the selection fresh, several new beers may come on tap during a stay. Very active social scene with monthly beer dinners and special events. | 99bottlesbeer (2), Delaware does not count - explanation | | February 3, 2012 Draft List is Great. Bottle List does not change much. Prices are all over. Some seem to cheap other way to high. Food is average pub food. Some items are creative others are sloppily thrown together. Proper glassware though and the bartenders know their stuff. I will continue to drink here. | | steverackers (10), BARRINGTON, New Jersey | | January 20, 2012 GREAT STUIFF- IN THE MIDDLE OF A NORMAL RUN O THE MILL NEIGHBORHOOOD! | | barringtonbeer (11), , | | January 7, 2012 [ Updated January 20, 2012 ] amazing beer bar with great food. only drawback, parking, since it seems to be packed always! | jrodooo5 (5), Wilmington, Delaware does not count - explanation | | July 28, 2011 A new place still seemingly trying to work out the kinks. Waitress had no clue on the difference between an IPA or a Stout. Food portion was very small. Draft list didn’t match what their website listed. Had some rare bottles but the cost was extreme! | | sloth (28), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland | | July 6, 2011 Really enjoyed this place! Wife and i went on a wednesday afternoon, lunch. Place was clean and well lit with sunlight. TVs were on but the volume was down on all of them, which is how i like it. Decent music, up to date. Not a large bar but good sized with a dining area off the back. Service was very good. The young lady knew good beer and was really attentive. Granted it was,nt real busy. Beer selection was very good. 3 drafts that i had not had before, all local of course though, DFH and Evo. But still. Food was real good pub grub, nice portions for the price and some a bit eclectic i,d say. Bottle selection was impressive also. Prices were fair on both beer and food. Different serving sizes also a bonus. 8 oz. up to 18 oz.. Free samples before you buy a beer if youd like is nice also. Easy access and plenty of parking. The pissery was nicely clean also. Worth the stop. Diggin this place. I will be back! | | GMCC2181 (42), Newark , Delaware | | May 3, 2011 I visited Two Stones on a Sunday night. It was quite, small. Bar holds 20 people or so. There are tables and small dining room. 25 drafts of the good stuff. Lots of DE beers such as EVO, DFH.... Close to a hundred bottles available. Everything from pale ales to barleywines. They said they were going to have two cask up and running soon. They have a Randell on Wednesdays and sales of their big bottles on thursdays. Food: was fresh and good, small menu. Staff was friendly and was knowlegable about craft beer. I will be back! |
