Nice BA pub, centrally located. Semi-skilled staff and a good selection. This is where I tasted every edition of the Mackmyra distillery production from the first six years. That whisky is hugely overrated, so, thank heavens for the good beer!

Opened in 1994, located next to the Motala Ström River and a stone’s throw from the railway station.

A pint is 53 SEK. The assortment is slowly rotated, but you can always find some British and Belgian ale, a few wheat beers and a number of domestic and imported lagers and Pilsners.Some of the bottles are exclusively imported in limited quantities.

When it comes to whisky, they offer roughly 200 different sorts, mostly Scottish malts.

The pub got assembly rooms at the second floor. On Saturday evenings, there are sometimes troubadours entertaining at the upper floor.

During the summertime, a beer garden is set up just outside the pub, facing the river. If the wheater is good, the place often gets quite crowded.

The pub grub is OK: The hot meals start at 79 SEK, ask the staff for the “tonight’s special”, usually worth its price. There is a selection of snacks and starters from 45 SEK (British crisps are mostly available for 20 SEK).

The staff are always jolly and helpful, although the turnover sometimes have been a little high.
