| beernovice39 (10), South Carolina | | July 19, 2009 Mostly wine and cheese, but they do have some decent brews available.....I listed them as having "rare" but honestly I am not sure what most of you call "rare". I have found items here that are not in other local stores Samiclaus for example. Staff is great and they have in store tastings!! | | Goldorak (110), Montreal, Quebec | | October 21, 2008 For this area, not bad at all. Had all the major micros (SN, Anchor, Rogue, SA, Stone, Brooklyn, etc.) a few locals (Terrapin, no Duck Rabbit though) and some you wonder how it got all the way to southern South Carolina (Uinta for one). Imports were for the most part the usual suspects that most good Beer stores have. Overall the selection was better than I expected, no big rarities but plenty of interesting stuff for an out-of-town dude such as myself. Prices were very reasonable. A bomber of Chouffe Houblon for around 8 bucks? Not bad at all. Other perks included a cheese counter and a pretty decent wine selection. Service was okay, friendly enough. Easy to get to from Augusta, right across the bridge into SC. I walked from the Marriott by the river. Adjescent to a british style pub, which I didn’t go see. | se6qejkz (1), does not count - explanation | | November 15, 2007 Great Selection, Great Service and Very Knowledgeable. Wine World has recently moved from a small store into a spacious, multi-room facility for tasting and viewing, Wine and beer tastings. I agree with shrubber85, a gem! | | shrubber85 (59), Wallhalben, Germany | | January 7, 2006 Primarily a wine and cheese shop (obviously) but shop has a moderate but very eclectic selection of beers on hand. Decent selection of local micros, Rogue, German, and English beers. Many styles represented - not a lot of Belgian beers at the present but has a rotating selection. However they sell beer by the single and are extremely reasonably priced. A rare gem for the area but probably not worth going out of your way for. |
