| AwYeh (12), Canton, Ohio | | December 22, 2010 Best selection of Canton’s chain grocery stores; features a pretty good variety of 4/6-packs and bombers. Many local beers you might not find elsewhere (Buckeye Brewing Co, Brew Kettle) are always in stock here. Small selection of singles too; I believe this is a relatively new feature as of my review so this may be expanded in the future. | | beerchugger (23), North Canton, Ohio | | May 5, 2010 [ Updated July 22, 2010 ] For the area, it’s not too bad. It’s a grocery store with a decent selection of different beers and other alcoholic beverages. The bomber selection is, again, pretty decent considering. The value is pretty spot on, not too high, not insanely low. It’s just down the road from me, so it’s a regular stop for me. If it wasn’t, I don’t think I’d frequent it. | chuckratebeer (7), bedford, Ohio does not count - explanation | | August 23, 2007 A wide selection of beers both room teperature and cold. Good seasonals, a bunch of micro-brews and a friendly wine steward make this a fine store. | | cking (26), North Canton, Ohio | | June 7, 2007 It’s a grocery store so service is non-existent. Selection and value are very much better than average for this area. The prices are as reasonable as can be found. What I really like is that most of the beers can be purchased from the coolers or directly off of the shelf which makes storage easy. Good selection of most well recognized imports and micro-brews, but they also carry Rogue, Stone, Unibroue, Ommegang and many other obscure brands. Wonderful find best selection of any grocery store around. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | April 20, 2004 If a grocery store with a similar selection were located in a larger city it would not really be worth mentioning. However, the Canton area of Ohio is not really known for beer (outside of Thirsty Dog, Winking Lizard, and World Market).
This Acme is located on N. Main, which is a busy area of North Canton. Being a grocery store, parking is never a problem.
As for the beer selection, one can find regionals like Great Lakes (including seasonals) and Thirsty Dog all stocked, as well as other micros like Stone (I saw a Double Bastard), Saranac, Sierra Nevada, Unibroue etc. The downside is that being a grocery store, don’t expect too much in the way of beer knowledge.
In short, if you are visiting the North Canton for some reason, this grocery store may be worth a quick visit. |
