orvalrugger45 (2), Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | July 27, 2011 Hands down, this is, in my opinion, the best craft beer and dining experience in western mass. The tap list is constantly evolving so unless you go everyday, you’re almost always going to see a different tap list. The bottle list is quite impressive as well ( keeps up with specialty releases as best they can). The food of the Sierra Grille. . . unbelievable. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The staff seems to take an interest in helping you pick out any part of the meal if you ever have questions and their recommendations are always on point. My only negative about the experience is that its usually pretty dark. I’m not a fan of eating my meals with the lights real dim to the point I’m using the candle to choose my next beer. You’re going to spend a little more money here but you will have one of the best beer & food experiences around. | | CamdenD (26), Madrid, Spain | | April 12, 2011 This is a nice bar with certainly above-average beer and it tries slightly less hard than some of the other beer bars in town. Nice selection on tap, bottle list used to be fantastic, but from what I remember has been dumbed down slightly. Always a lambic or two, and always something you didn’t expect. Can’t ask for much more. | | dogfish120love (18), Westfield, Massachusetts | | December 28, 2009 [ Updated February 10, 2010 ] Then food here is excellent. Mussels with an allagash white sauce is the way to go for sure. The beer selection is rather good as well. They often have a great selection of local as well as country wide micro brews. | bentley78 (1), Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | March 7, 2008 This is a very rare and unique situation where the owner, who I know very well, is just as passionate about the beer as he is about the food. Both are amazing. Wonderful atmosphere which is classy and warm, without being snooty. Excellent lighting and decor, with warm wooden panels highlighting most areas. Wonderful and lively (but not annoyingly so) bar area, and a cozy dining area in back. Service is always excellent, with a very friendly wait staff, who are also very knowledgable about the beer and food they offer. O Brien, the owner, is always experimenting with new and delicious regular items and specials. He creates a wide variety of dishes with unique and amazing recipes. Everything from seafood to game to cheese platters fine desserts and soups. Prices are very resonable, some items on the menu only costing around three or four dollars. As far as the beer is concerned, he always offers an amazing and diverse selection, which balances a regular base of great belgian beers with excellent microbrew stuff as well, often rare and hard to find brews. Within these there is often a good range of styles, something for everyone. He is very passionate about the beer, and is always looking to aquire rare and delicious stuff to tap. This restaurant puts out a wonderful vibe, which stems from the staff. | cakanator (4), South Hadley, Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | February 25, 2008 It’s the place I always go to for the best beer and food in the city. The service is great and helpful when trying to figure out what you really want. The small plates are amazing and cost efficient for what you get, and the selection of 20 taps turns almost every week where you get to try something new. I’ve had way too many great beers here to not go every week! | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | July 11, 2007 Open at 5 instead of 3, this was a nice looking place in a nice town. Not unfriendly, it was not as gregarious as many other smaller town or smaller city pubs. people had their cliques. Good selection of beer, if not on the cutting edge. |
