Andechs seem to opening up bars in a few major German cities, this one is inside the deutscher-kaiser-hotel. We sat outside during the day and ate some lovely food, I had the days special which was a Chicken Cordon Bleu, my wife had some fish, both washed down with well presented and tasty beers. In the evening we entered the dark brown, wooded interior, scrubbed tables, wooden floor, chandaliers and very impressive all round. It gets more ’churchy’ as you go futher in, there is also a small balcony inside. A modern tubular ventilation system sits uncomfortably on the ceiling, but it doesn’t ruin the place completely. All the beers we had were in excellent shape, the staff were pleasant and swift to serve us.

Large restaurant space on the main thoroughfare catering to tourists so it has that Munich Marienplatz feel to it, which isn’t my feel at all. Andechser on tap but honestly they didn’t seem to be in the best shape what I tried, and of course the prices are quite high.

One of the better places in town. All of those tasty Andechers are here. The food is very good and the sevice is as well.

Visited 9/7/2011. Enjoyable Hell and Dunkel beers, with a tasty Leberkase and decent service. Fairly quiet on a Saturday evening and pricey, but still worth a look.

Certainly an impressive building, though being attached to a hotel gives it a slightly sterile vibe. Sit inside for quiet and civilised, outside on the patio for people-watching. Beers, being from Andechs obviously, are very good, though probably the most expensive beers in Nuremberg. The entire range is available. Never ate here, but it looked expensive. The kind of place you probably want to go to for a beer or two, but not the kind of place you are likely to end up accidently spending the whole afternoon and evening at.

Not quite as much ambiance as the Munich outlet Am Dom has, but comes close. Classical decor and cozy in bad weather. Conveniently located in town and the beers are in great condition.

A rather grand pub restaurant in a late 19th century building in the typical pinkish stone. It has high vaulted ceilings, long pine tables and wooden floors. There are a also few tables in the pedestrianised street outside. For those changing trains in Nuremberg, it’s handily located just a few minutes’ walk away from the main station. All of Andechs beers are here.
