This is a large store, very spread out, not like the Whole Foods in many other places that have very cramped aisles. They also have a parking lot which is great considering that in the downtown area parking can be difficult on a weekday. The beer aisle has a pretty good selection. Like all Whole Foods the majority of it is refrigerated (huge plus in my book) and the selection is diverse (another plus). What sets this one apart from the others is shelf at the end that contains the fun stuff. Goose Island Gillian/Lolita/Halia, Scaldis Prestige and Prestige Noir, several Jolly Pumpkins, 3 Fonteinen Oude Gueuze, Beersel gueuze and kriek, several Cascades, several Logsdon selections, several Upright beers, and some of the better selections from AleSmith, Firestone, and Mikkeller. Also for good measure they have Samischlaus, Boulevard, Anchorage, Aventinuns, Pannepot, and some glassware. This shelf trumps the rest of the selection but the refrigerated stuff is pretty good too. Prices are decent on beer. Everything about this is good and I never say that about Whole Foods.

Pretty decent selection of beers. A bit out of the way, I suppose, but it’s not that far from the Broadway BART stops. They had a fair amount of cider and gluten free options, which I guess shouldn’t be a surprise at Whole Paycheck. Standard Belgian and German imports, some San Diego beers, lots of Drakes and Bay Area stuff, too. Friendly and helpful service. Worth a stop.

This is one of the nicer Whole Foods stores in general. The beer selection is pretty good, but not as varied as the San Francisco 4th street store. It’s worth a visit.

A pretty new store when I was there in January. Its huge. Plenty of parking outside and on the roof. Huge selection of California and Oregan stuff. Good belgians too. Plenty of wine. When I was there I picked up Celebrator Doppelbock, Old Rasputin, Westmalle Tripel, and the 2007 Old Stock. Pleanty of North Coast, and there was a couple things in retrospect, I wish I bought (Russian River stuff mainly). Staff seems to be geared towards wine rather than beer.
