A nice place. Gives off a classy vibe. All of the waitstaff dressed in black, clean floors, lots of space. Sampler was inexpensive, food was OVERPRICED. Buffalo Shrimp Ɩ), $11.99! I can say I’ve been.

This is the Olathe, Kansas location of the national brew pub chain. Interior design was identical to the other GC I have been too, very generic and bland. Service was really good, bartender was friendly, and offered nice suggestions and knowledge on the beers and food. As noted in the beer review, they serve their beer CRAZY cold. I ordered the lunch size Cheddar and Bacon burger. Decent burger, nothing memorable though. Overall, same recommendation as the other GC I have visited, if you are in from out of town, there is no reason for you to hit this place. If you are local, or in the area and want a decent enough pint, this place will serve.

If you’ve never been to a GCFB before, here’s the basic scoop. The ambience, away from the bar, is on par with an upscale suburban family restaurant. The service is usually pretty good at a table, but expect to wait a long time for a drink at the bar, especially on a busy night. The beer selection is limited to a stable of four regular brews (all of which are pretty middle-of-the-road), one blend, and if you’re lucky, one seasonal. Ironically, the seasonals, which rarely last more than a couple weeks, are almost always better than the regular stuff. Perhaps they should consider some of them for their standard brews. The food, however, has always been top-notch for a brew-pub. Only Free State comes close on the food. All 3 locations, here in KC, are pretty much the same. I’ve been to them all, but the Olathe location gets my nod for #1. Why? It’s close to home, and Olathe has a No Smoking Ordinance. ’Nough said.

Visited for lunch on a Friday. Pretty much identical to the other Granite City locations I’ve been to. Nice enough on the inside, and located in a shopping area. Food was really good, which has always been the case in my GCFB experiences. The service was kinda slow, but the guy was new. The beers are what they are. Brewed for the masses, so they neither offended nor delighted me. I might go back sometime, if I’m in the area and hungry. No place I’d go to just for the beer.
