TampaGator (1), , does not count - explanation | | October 22, 2009 Excellent place. Great atmosphere, and the brews are great. | | PaulUnwin (15), Pinellas Park, | | September 1, 2009 I am always impressed when I go to the OTH. Its always nice not to have to talk over loud music, and be distracted by TV screens. There are plenty of Sports bars around for that! Tony is like a typical Landlord of a real pub, friendly, knowledgeable, and a great host. There are always plenty of beers to choose from, and food if you need it. I just wish it was within walking distance of my house! | BKlepa1 (1), , does not count - explanation | | August 22, 2009 Outstanding beer bar. Definitely one of my fav’s. Yet small establishment but gives it that friendly sit-back-and-relax atmosphere. You might have to share a table but since when do beer enthusiasts drink alone in the corner. Rather short food menu but selection does compliment beer menu quite well. Clean, comfortable, relaxing, and inviting. I highly recommend the Oldsmar Tap House to any beer drinker looking for a smaller, yet more community type of bar. PS, and the menu is changed constantly AND is easy to read, even after a few drinks. | | boneyfiend (10), Largo, Florida | | July 26, 2009 The place is small and therefore easily crowded. Add in a band playing and it gets even smaller and louder. It was easier to push up to the bar to get another round than wait for the server to find our table.
Decent selection of beer, I didn’t try any of the food.
They open late and close early, so I don’t get to go very often.
Some people seem to love this place, it doesn’t feel quite as cozy to me. I prefer Dunedin. | Gourmetcook (3), , does not count - explanation | | June 13, 2009 Too much hype on this place it doesn’t even feel like a bar to me just kind of weird inside. No food menu no beer menu they pointed to the chalkboard which was so dirty I couldn’t even read it.I’ve never been to a place that couldn’t produce a menu of selections. Ijust had the feeling this place was cheap.
Ritz crackers and cheese on a paper plate is not my idea of how you properly serve food. They should be as concerned about food service as beer service, especially when serving $6 beers and I found both to be lacking. One bartender was very condescending to a patron actually frowning at her selection of beers and saying outloud "why would you drink that?" well for one you have it on draft duh and that’s what the customer wanted. Secondly you never put down a patron’s selection outloud make a recomendation but don’t be critical of the selection it’s their choice not yours. They didn’t even have any fruit garnishes for beers that require a slice of orange, lemon or lime. I can think of 5 places in Tampa I’d rather go drink a beer at. It’s just a weird little joint with no feel. I rate my places on the whole package and this place is thumbs down.. | | juiceisloose (11), Windermere, Florida | | June 6, 2009 I visited here for the Cigar City launch party. It is a nice, upscale beer bar in a nice little strip area in Oldsmar. The decor inside was really nice with upscale finishes and very nice bar setting. The area is kind of small, but it can still hold a good amount of people. It was crazy the day I visited so the service was a little slow, but I am sure on any other day it would be fine. I didn’t have any food, but it was mostly deli sanwhiches, cheese platters, and finger food type stuff. There was a lot of beers on draft, but nothing crazy, but they seem to get new stuff all the time. Tony seems like a really good guy and he knows what he is doing with this place. Really nice beer bar, and I look forward to my next visit. | DanielD (8), does not count - explanation | | May 18, 2009 This is like the Forrest Gump of beer bars. Heard from most everyone it was the best ever and finally one person made a face and said I don’t think you’ll be happy there. I wasn’t happy. Thank goodness I was in the area to catch a band at Dunedin. If I had made the trip just to try OTH I would have been even more disappointed. If they didn’t have some different beers on tap and claim to be a beer lover’s haven this would be your average strip mall dive bar. Small, bright, lacking character, and lots of windows (as-if people are window shopping for beer). I will say there beers are priced low for the area. The service was terrible at the table, but we moved to the bar and we were better attended to, but the knowledge wasn’t there. I’ll try again in a few months, but for now I wouldn’t bother recommending this place. | | Nail (10), Georgia | | May 15, 2009 Ambiance is kind of sterile and the service can be spotty. The selection is average. Eat before you arrive, this is a beer bar, not a restaurant. | doublespeak (1), , does not count - explanation | | April 26, 2009 Everything about this place is wonderfull with few exceptions
the hours could be later ...but i will say it hasn’t stopped me from going there over and over and over again and i would love some outdoor seating to maybe sit and have a cigar ...but still not really a big deal for me
The great thing about this place is that you never are sure whats going to be on tap on any givin day...i have had things at OTH that i would not of found other places and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly...this is a beer geeks beer bar | vinerd (4), Orlando, Florida does not count - explanation | | April 20, 2009 Rather small for a beer bar, but not bad. Staff was helpful in finding a beer I would like. What a sausage factory!!! But if you can find a girl that really loves beer, this is the place to take her. |
