| cfrancis (58), Ottawa, Ontario | | October 9, 2009 Pretty big selection, on par with Rideau/King Edward. The problem with the LCBO is they are heavy on Lagers/Ales and very pitiful selection of anything else. | | grandgenie (21), gatineau, Quebec | | January 19, 2009 Bonne sélection service ok, belle emplacement quand tous les bières de bonne catégories ne sont plus présentes sur king-edward. | BytownJon (5), Ontario does not count - explanation | | April 10, 2008 My usual outlet - As mentioned previous, due to its warehouse extension, it’s stuck in a ’rougher’ part of Ottawa, Bank St south of Walkley, within walking distance of the ledbury projects. Once you’re inside everything changes it’s very large with a huge selection of pretty much everything. As for brews, a good mix of cases, singles and those kept cold. Staff don’t or can’t seem to keep up with keep the shelves in an orderly fashion, but the selection is hard to beat, esp. for Europeans. | | MartinT (469), Montreal, Quebec | | November 26, 2005 A big LCBO store outside the Ottawa center, but not too far. Ontario has a pretty bleak beer scene, but this place has enough imported classics to fill part of your fridge. Schlenkerla Marzen, Aventinus, Fuller’s London Porter, Okocim Porter, etc. were found that day. Clean and well-kept, but somewhat disorganized in the aisles. | | pintbypint (22), Edmonton, Alberta | | July 18, 2005 Fairly large store, largest beer section I’ve seen as far as LCBOs go. Had all seasonal beers well stocked. Found a few things that were not available in the Windsor area. Very busy store, parking was a nightmare. | | Boutip (49), Gatineau, Quebec | | January 19, 2005 Good LCBO to visit since the regional warehouse is attached to the store. This means that selection is usually pretty good and because less people frequent this store, you usually don’t have to rush out there to ensure you get the hot new release. Parking is also larger then the Rideau store which is very convenient. | | CapFlu (185), Victoria, British Columbia | | November 2, 2004 A very interesting location and design - this LCBO combines their Ottawa regional depot with a store. The 1960 architecture is truly outstanding and welcoming. The best part about the Depot is that they often get the beer on their shelves first and sometimes (just sometimes) keep the regional over-stock of seasonals. I’ve often found what I could no longer find at the Rideau location here. Since it is the depot - I suspect they don’t overly emphasize the service at this location because its hard to find someone on the floor? |
