| rumproasts (34), Grand Rapids, Michigan | | May 3, 2012 huge liquor store with a lot of beer selection. singles are sold as a mix 6, so there aren’t any hidden gems available, but there are plenty of local/regional beers that were new to me. due to kansas’ limited distribution, the store on the missouri side had a better selection. | | beastiefan2k (141), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | | December 11, 2011 This is the store I rarely visit in KC, not b/c its bad but just b/c there are other better stores. Its a large store, not much in the way of ambiance. Not as well let as the Martin City Lukas and not as big. Its a fine store and if you are near by you should stop by. But it falls out of the top tier KC stores. | | jandd1983 (87), Florissant, Missouri | | October 2, 2011 A warehouse for adults. Great selection and very courteous and knowledgeable staff. The beers were arranged by brewer, makes it easy to find what you are looking for. Will definitely be back. | | eclaycamp (35), , Kansas | | May 15, 2011 The little sister to the KC Missouri Store, Lukas Liquor in Overland Park isn’t bad by any means. While the size of the store is a bit smaller, the selection is nearly as good, though missing some thing that you can get on the Missouri side. If you’re in the Overland Park area it’s worth checking out, otherwise take the extra 30 minutes to go to the other store. | | msante79 (253), Mount Prospect, Illinois | | July 8, 2010 Massive liquor store. Nice singles selection and good amount of seasonals. Not nearly the store of the Lonetree, CO location, but then again much different distribution. | htlp12 (8), does not count - explanation | | March 10, 2010 HUGE store, truly warehouse like. Beer is in the back 1/4 of the store, and the have a tremendous amount of cooler doors. Selection is pretty massive, although I don’t tend to ever run into special releases or hard to find beers. Just a really wide selection of offerings and two enormous rows of bombers as well, which is nice. Staff is friendly and always good to help, as long as you go to them. Location is middle of nowhere though. Pick Six is pretty massive too, and all refrigerated, and then organized by beer type, which was a nice touch. Certainly not my go to store for atmosphere and releases (Gomer’s Lee Summit all the way), but worth the occassional trek to search the giant place and see what pops up. | rader58 (7), Leawood, Kansas does not count - explanation | | January 24, 2010 Great store. Carries many beers that other liquor stores don’t. Prices are slightly better than Lukas Liquor KC. Carries a few beers that the Missouri store doesn’t (because of distribution from Colorado). | | KapitiCritique (32), Kansas City, Missouri | | January 6, 2010 Huge. Massive selection. In the middle of nowhere however and not convenient to most of the metro area. | | Pawola22 (18), Chicago, Illinois | | October 19, 2009 I’ll admit I put this into my GPS as "Lukas2" and the KC location as "Lukas1," but it really is equal to the KC Lukas store. They offer a bit of a different selection because of distributors, but still have a vast selection. I like this place because they offer some "no-name" bombers for cheap that end up being pretty tasty. They also offer some CA beers that the KC Lukas doesn’t carry such as Ballast Point. I like the single bottle Goose Island selection, but don’t like how they lack Bell’s. They have a nice mixer sixer selection that is very different from the KC location too. Dieu du Ciel is also available in more than just the Péché Mortel, which I love. Not bad prices, no real customer service, and relatively straightforward shopping. Overall, its my #3 KC area location behind Gomer’s Lees Summit and KC Lukas. | oldredbone (6), Kansas does not count - explanation | | October 15, 2009 The store was ok, very big which is good. I didnt seem to get much help finding stuff. But the selection was decent. |
