64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 magsinva (125) Virginia | December 28, 2012 Gas station looking location with a giant ice machine kiosk beside it to get your beer chilled as fast as possible. Good selection for the area, with taps for growlers featuring local seasonals and some typical national craft brands. The staff was friendly, though I can’t vouch for their beer knowledge. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 DiarmaidBHK (523) Pennsylvania | July 14, 2012 Located near Hampton Cove. Looks like a typical convenience store type place from the outside but very clean with nice hardwood floors inside. They have a number of coolers in the back for six packs and their Belgian stuff in the next room. Selection is typical for the area which is to say regional and national craft with a few Belgians and Germans lurking but nothing too unique or rare. They also have 16 taps of mainly local brew. Though they use plastic jugs as growlers they have sizes as small as a quart which considering how outrageously expensive craft beer is in this town is important to note since it represents a significant cost savings. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 naturespointe (1) huntsville, Alabama | November 18, 2011 They are adding new beer weekly. Hope to have taps and new beer room in Jan 2012. Very nice store and nice people. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 11/20 GTAEgeek (103) Atlanta, Georgia | February 12, 2011 Little yellow building off Hwy 431 southbound just south of Hampton Cove. The squat building and neon signs speak only of standard liquor store fare and cheap beer. Inside, it is well lit, clean and reasonably laid out. Its not a huge place, and the selection is limited, but hits most of the high points. A respectable collection of Belgian beers, and several regional beer, although no locals. The cashier was very friendly and helpful, fairly knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. The prices are pretty standard. Overall, not too bad, especially considering that its in the middle of nowhere. |
