10 reviews for TJ’s Restaurant & Drinkery
| vze1mhay (12), Stroudsburg, | | October 24, 2009 They are always rotating a good selection of micro’s on tap with several hand casks available. excellent bottle selection. the sampler has a gerenous amount of each beer. Good place to hang out and watch a game. Staff friendly and knowlegeable. | | agl108 (26), Manayunk, Pennsylvania | | April 6, 2009 Finally checked this place out after monitoring their draft list for months. Surprisingly empty bar area for a Saturday night. Several large plasmas, perfect for watching a game. Nice size draft list and even better bottle list. Food was slightly above average pub fare. Would definitely revisit but with Teresa’s and Capone’s closer that may be tough to do. | | michael-pollack (71), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | | January 17, 2009 Nice place. Very goof service. Very good selection. Good food. Average value. | | watson1977 (10), , Pennsylvania | | January 12, 2009 though this bar is a little open and bright for my taste, the service and food coupled with a top notch beer selecion (great cellar aged options) make this place one of my favorites. prices might be a little on the high side but its hard to complain when the selection is so good. | | jmm635 (33), Havertown, Pennsylvania | | October 20, 2008 [ Updated April 10, 2009 ] Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 4. Obviously, the place wasn’t very busy, so we got some really nice service from the waiter. He really knew his stuff and made a few suggestions from the lengthy draft and bottle list. They had dogfish head 120 on tap and I got a free glass because it was the bottom of the keg and not an entirely full glass. Food was pretty good. Nearly everything is cooked with beer! I will definitely be going back soon.
Been back many times since my first rating. Beer list is always spectacular and the food is great. Try the Boursin cheese burger! | beergirl2288 (4), , Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | October 2, 2008 Great selection, MUCH nicer with out the smoke....food well its ok | jeff789 (4), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | May 20, 2008 One of the top 2 or 3 beer bars in the Suburbs of Philly... Good food, and an amazing selection(esp bottles)... I agree about the beer menu’s, absolutely hands down every time i go i get lost trying to decide, and i think part of my indecision lays in the extensiveness of the beer menu... Great Bar.. | NolanGTI (1), does not count - explanation | | April 16, 2008 One of the best in the burbs. Great food and a killer selection. Sports bar meets beer bar meets gastropub style food. My kind of place. Some staff is more in tune with the beer selection than others, but even if you get a less knowledgeable server they have the most extensive beer menus I have ever seen, anywhere, in the whole world, really anywhere. Do you get my point about the menus yet?
| | billk (35), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho | | January 27, 2008 Nothing special about the atmosphere, and the bar area is quite loaded with cigarette and cigar smoke (Sunday afternoon), but the selection is interesting and plentiful (especially considering the bottle selection) for this area. Didn’t have any food this time but plan a return for the Stout day in Feb. (afternoon to hopefully avoid the smoke).
6 ers of Orval for take out @ $24. | roan22 (4), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | June 14, 2007 [ Updated February 19, 2009 ] TJ’s everyday is located in Paoli, in a shopping center set off Rt. 30, between the Paoli train station and the Burger King (same side of the street). You might blow right by it so be looking for these landmarks. The atmosphere in the bar is kind-of minimalist, renovated , clean but a bit too bright and cold for my taste( the stone tile floor adds to the draftyness). This bar’s strengths are its rotating tap selection...local and mega- beer geek lovin’ brands and choices abide (Founders, Weyerbacher, Bells, Sly Fox, Victory, Legacy, Rogue, Troegs, Russian River, etc.). Also the food is best I’ve ever had in a beerbar, or brewpub, anywhere, and that says a lot because I am P-I-C-K-Y. TJ’s offers a beer guidebook/menu and food/beer pairings on the menu. Cheers TJ’s! |
