| Geiserich (19), Vienna, Austria | | October 21, 2009 The service was really excellent and the shop owner told me a lot of details about the beers in english (and also a little bit in german). Great selection of French beers and quite rare stuff. All bottles were wrapped in bubble plastic as he recognized that I will transport the bottles by plane. 2.7 € for a 0,33 l bottle was good value and a nice talk was included. | | KnutAlbert (150), Oslo, Norway | | October 8, 2009 One of the top 5 beer shops in Europe. Freindly and personal service, with words of advice on every bottle in the store.
This is not a place where they have to cram in as many beers as possible, rather it is a place to get the best French beers available. (There are a few Belgians as well).
Simon runs the shop, and he takse pride in what he’s doing.
Remeber to bring along a good bottle of beer from home, he’s happy to swap with you.
I had all my bottles bubble wrapped at no extra charge. And the prices are very reasonable. | | Poperinge (119), Cowtown, Alberta | | September 25, 2009 Simon is a great guy, he packs stuff for the plane for you if you need that. A wild selection of French beer and a solid selection of Belgian Beers. The man has a passion for French beer that is pretty insane. CONGRATULATIONS SIMON ON THE BIRTH OF YOUR TWINS! | DeanF (3), Paris, France does not count - explanation | | September 19, 2009 Place was finally open when I passed by this afternoon - it’s run by one guy who speaks great english but entertained me as I fumbled through my French. Great explanations and advice, really good selection of artisanal beers from across France. One complaint I could make is that it seemed -too- eclectic - anything that you could find in a local supermarket was nowhere to be found. But it really is a "must" for beer geeks passing through Paris, and you won’t be disappointed if you’re curious about artisanal beers from France. This is easily the best place in Paris to find out about them. | kester (6), , Netherlands does not count - explanation | | September 5, 2009 The French kilt wearer’s society event was in store when we visited! Around them more different French beers than I’ve seen in one place before. Owner was really helpful, friendly. He must know all the beers in shop well, and was able to suggest to preference. | | dec23 (12), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | August 15, 2009 [ Updated September 5, 2009 ] When in Rome do as the Romans do ... and when in Paris you should check out this place for a good seletion of French beers. They offer little else - a selection of a few Belgian staples and exceptions and assorted others - but the range of French beers is great. It is a very nicely yet simply made up store, and you have the right glass on the shelves next to each beer, which I found a nice touch. Simon - the proprietor - is a nice guy who likes elaborating on beers whenever he has enough time, and manages several customers like spinning plates. He also speaks fluent English which is an added benefit for the non-french-speaker. The prices are easy, all French beers cost the same dependent on bottle size, with some exceptions. If I remember correctly the 0.7 liter bottles are 5.4 EUR which is a bargain considering the beer prices in Paris. | | hirigalzkar (13), Stockholm, Sweden | | July 19, 2009 Really nice place if you’re looking for french micros. The staff seems to know everything about french beer and willing to share experiences. Has some belgian beer aswell, including two of my favorite breweries Brasserie De La Senne and Cantillon. Without question the best beer store in Paris. | | skortila (65), Bunnik, Netherlands | | July 13, 2009 Great store in Paris. Very helpfull and friendly staff, knows what he selling. And also what to advise. Lots of new ratings there. Pleasant atmosphere. Good pricing (by bottle size). My bottles were even packed in bubble plastic for transport. Wonderfull, where do you see something like that? | | zdk (24), New York | | July 12, 2009 Pleasant location, down a small alleyway in an otherwise crowded part of Paris. The shop has an amazing collection of French crafts plus some decent Belgians (which I mostly ignored b/c I just came from Belgium). The owner is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the details of every product in his store (there must be hundreds). Every bottle of the same volume had the same cheap price. He bubble wrapped everything and we chatted about New York craft beer. I only bought 4 bottles because I had space issues.
I would kill for a store like this nearby. | | gerome (13), , France | | June 9, 2009 simon good connoisseur of beer, lots of beer, and beautiful beershop |
