| LtDan (61), Los Angeles County, California | | January 16, 2010 The place is loud and over crowded. Why? Because everyone who works in a one mile radius flocks to this place after work. They play classic rock (the same 10 songs you can here on 95.5) while playing ESPN on brand new HDTVs. Here is the kick on that: They clunked down the cash for 20 some tvs, but are too cheap to pay for HD signal. You have to wait an hour to get seated in a bench or take a few hot laps around the bar hoping someone gets up and leaves. Lame! The selection is deceptive. You will see 150 taps, 120 of them are BMC, every light beer imaginable, and every Import Swill imaginable. Thats fine, they are a business, and they seem to be doing well with their beer formula. You will be able to get some Firestone Walker/Nectar Ales, Stone Brewing and pedestrian Belgian Ales as well if you have to go there. The food is average, but the prices make it slightly below average. The value is low unless you go at happy hour, but again, if you have to spend most of happy hour vulturing around a seat, you really might get in two beers before happy hour is over. Overall this place is full of douchebaggery. | | brianallen (10), Alabama | | January 8, 2009 My wife and I loved the Yard House. The outside dinning is great for just sitting and watching the world good by while you enjoy your beer.
The beer is displayed very nicely. The taps are layout by style and brand, which is very nice.
I have added this as a waypoint in my GPS for any time I am in town. | | teamugly (17), SIMI VALLEY, California | | October 4, 2008 Great selection on tap | | Ungstrup (335), Oamaru, New Zealand | | August 7, 2008 I known it is a chain and I know they also serve Bud Light, but coming from Denmark a place like this is fantastic with 130 taps - and lots of them untried for me - in Denmark the best bars has around 20 taps. A huge place and very busy when we visited around dinner time on a Wednesday night. A typical huge beer hall with a very high cealing and a long oval bar with the 130 taps in the center. Even though it was busy the service was quick and quite well informed, and the prices was very reasonable. Unfortunately our crammed scheduel didn’t allow us to stay for more than 4 beers. | | Dunk (17), SoCal, | | May 23, 2008 Typical of the Yard House chain. Nice upscale place and I like their food. Service is usually decent. Lots of taps but most are macros and euroswill. Decent amount of craft brews that should keep most anyone content - nothing rare or unusual though. Fortunately Lucky Baldwin’s is in walking distance! | | nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | May 13, 2008 It’s a chain now, so there’s not much that distinquishes this location from others, yet it’s proximity to several great movie theaters and old town pasadena make this a convenient place to stop for a beer particularly if variety is of concern. | | StefanSD (41), Lakeside, California | | February 4, 2008 [ Updated July 27, 2008 ] I visited hee a couple of years ago with my wife Stacey and a couple of other friends from LA. We were attending the Star Trek grand slam convention. The convention center is right across the street to the south. Our hotel was also nearby to the south. We were thrilled to find a place that served something other than MACROS that was within walking distance, we found this place purely by accident. I think drank Redhook’s ESB and Stacey had the Winterhook, neither of which we had ever had on tap before. The dinner was pretty much confined to quesa dip and chips while we chatted. The place was bustling and noisy with wall to wall people, the service was slightly inadequate for the number of guests. I will visit again if I am ever in Pasadena again. | | can8ianben (84), Souderton, Pennsylvania | | January 22, 2008 Very trendy, lots of beer choices but nothing that really jumps off the menu. The food is pretty tasty, but everything seems a little too uptight. Go during happy hour for some great food deals. | | ajm (191), Los Angeles, California | | November 28, 2007 [ Updated August 14, 2008 ] Not worth the trip. The shopping center it’s in is nice enough, but if you get seated outside, forget about clean air or ever seeing your server again. The beer selection is as dismal as this chain can muster. | GuyCuba (1), California does not count - explanation | | March 16, 2007 Great concept, but the execution is a disappointment. Lots o’ beers, but I have often had to resort to my third or fourth choice from the menu before finding one currently tapped. Some of the less popular choices also seem to have been languishing in the cooler for a while. This place is a good pit stop when shopping on Colorado Blvd, but not worth it as a primary destination. |
