Stopped in on May 13, 2012. Had breakfast (eggs Benedict) which was outstanding. Beers available in flights. Great spot. Anne took care of me - super nice and very knowledgable. This is now one of my all time favorite spots.

One of the best beer bars in Sonoma County still. You’ll find specialty beers alongside some things that aren’t so special. Don’t expect something stunning - we are a small county with limited access to great stuff - but TAPS does well to bring in what we can get. Helpful staff that has on occasion exhibited some of the problems mentioned by joey below.

decent place, could iuse better food, but decent service and beer list. could be a bit more rounded, out of 24 beers there was only 1 imperial stout, 5 iipa’s, so that was ok. a bunch of other stuff too, but nothing that interested me very much. pretty loud when it is busy as its just a big crowded room. also, the cops work those streets hard so be really careful leaving this place.

Been here a couple times now, and have mixed feelings about the place. A chalkboard on either side of the long bar denotes the 12-14 taps pouring on the respected side. Simple enough. The owner seems to relatively know his stuff--he was even tending bar last Saturday. Between him and the other bartender, however, I was left without a beer (or water) for over twenty minutes while sitting at the bar. Yes, it was Saturday. Yes, it was relatively busy--but no one was left without a seat. They both seemed to make a point to ignore my gf and myself until I had to frantically wave my arms and stand on my barstool (the rungs, not the seat) to get their attention. Very annoying. Also, we had a very nice glass of Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse they had just put on. I asked the bartender if it was nice and hoppy. As he smelled it and took a big swallow, and smiled, he replied "I hope not." I guess you don’t know what hops are, sir. They do get great seasonals and local beers (I echo Ken’s thoughts, but none of those are there now), the taps seem quite clean, though it does get noisy and very echo-y (not the fault of the music--it was pretty quiet). Had Ken and Fritz’s, Anderson Valley Sour Horn, very fresh Hop Stoopid--lots of NorCal stuff. Their menu seems to have expanded since November when we were here last, now offering some sandwiches and lots of different fries and a few Buffalo wings. I could easily eat dinner here, not my gf. So maybe eat before you come if there’s a picky eater that doesn’t want a small pub grub menu. I am going again soon hoping service doesn’t blow, but that’s really my only complaint, as the staff’s knowledge isn’t a big deal. Also, Mario (Hop Press and Brewed for Thought) is supposed to come by once a week to pick a beer of the week (look for a sign hanging on the tap), so patrons don’t need to sample 50 beers to get something rocking. Update--went last Saturday and service was a helluva lot better. I got the Jimbo sammich, which wasn’t too bad. My gf’s BBQ pork sammich was what you’d expect from a place that doesn’t smoke meat. Both $9. Seasoned fries were good.

Excellent new taphouse in downtown Petaluma, well worth the 30-minute drive from Sebastopol. Cask Hop Stoopid, taps of La Folie, Marin Pt. Reyes, Stone RIS, Stone Collaboration, Valley Brew London Tavern Ale (tasty mild!), Anchor Small Beer, etc., this seems like possibly the best place in North Bay for California rarities and seasonals; hoping to see more of the Valley Brew one-offs appear up here. Packed on a Friday evening, with an expanded menu compared to what they have posted online. Very much looking forward to seeing how this location develops over the next few months.

Update: after an initial push from the RB Events Opening, these guys seriously do seem to get everything new and rare that comes to the area: Ommegang Adoration, Anchor Humming Ale, Valley Brew Uber Abbey, rare Firestone Walker brews, etc. Been here more than anywhere else in the area so far.
