| hopdog (197), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | November 10, 2009 I was impressed with their selection. Lots of singles in fridges. For me, it’s hard to find any new beers...I walked out with a mixed sixer and also a 750ml of Bush de Nuits and some other new bombers! Discount on mix-6’ers to boot. Worth a stop if you are in the area for sure! | | treadyroc (14), St. Leonard, Maryland | | May 26, 2009 A great place to not only do your beer shopping, but also get a quality sandwich & enjoy one of your choices during your meal. I went in with a list, & though I did find the inventory list, the clerk on-hand was more than willing to go over it to tell me if they had what I was looking for. In a cool little neighborhood setting & the deli selections are well varied. Be prepared to spend more than you expect; there aren’t any prices on the bottles (they are on the inventory list, however), so you get a nice "surprise" at check out. It’s right off of 95, though, so there’s really no reason not to stop. Yet another reason to avoid Turnpike/Parkway hell. | | MrChopin (19), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | February 16, 2009 Like a country market store crossed with the after-class high school deli hangout... weird. The service was a little distant but still genial. The selection is massive, pretty much everything from East-West, Europe-Americas: Mikkeller, ~all avail Jolly Pumpkin, ~all Hitachino, BFM, ~all avail Cantillon, Weyerbacher, Dieu du Ciel, De Dolle, Founders... plus the gray market philly stuff from Westvleteren, Lost Abbey, and the like. They don’t hit the ultimate high rarities that Capone’s does and I think were a little more expensive, but they cover all the bases. Though I’d still prefer to go to Monk’s or Capone’s as this one felt unoriginal and sterile, this is a must if you are in Philly. | | jeremytoni (53), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | November 20, 2008 A large selection of bottle with some real hard to find stuff. Beware of the prices, walkout with 9 beers and a 115$ bill. | | santos999 (15), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | November 18, 2008 My God the selection. Fantastic, rare bottles for days. Easily the best selection I’ve seen in the area. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about beer. My only complaint is the price - first, they are difficult to find on the price sheet, and second, when you do find them, they are expensive as fuck. $20.95 for a 750 of Jolly Pumpkin? Damn that’s pricey! If you got some extra dollars to drop, this would be the joint to do it at. | scrapdog (1), does not count - explanation | | October 2, 2008 Excellent selection! The price list sometimes a little hard to navigate and not all the beers are listed. The staff is VERY knowledgeable and willing to help. There is a discount applied to each bottle when purchasing as part of a 6-pack, so come with more than a few beers to try. There is a hand-written sign that says they have over 875 beers, and I believe it. They even have Pabst Light in pounders. I don’t want it, but they have it!
There are also occasional tastings I was pleasantly surprised to see a Sly Fox Tasting sign that brought me right into the store.
| | bp (47), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | May 12, 2008 This Foodery is way better than the original location - cleaner, more spacious, better selection. Plenty of bottles of Lost Abbey, Mikkeller, Hoppin Frog, Pizza Port, etc - stuff you don’t find just anywhere. I’ve never seen Lost Abbey at the original Foodery which is too bad since I live nearby. | | SB (24), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | March 29, 2008 Awesome place. Parking is terrible! Deli Style place. Wish I had time for a sandwich. Huge selection. Staff is very friendly. Found a lot of stuff I can’t normally get at home. Also found some rare beers...Peche Mortel. | ScoWRee (5), Phila, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | March 8, 2008 Great Place. This is the place to go. Parking is a little hard. Great selection. I almost always find what I’m looking for! | | Diogène (25), Gatineau, Quebec | | February 19, 2008 A very good selection of american, belgian and asian beers. It is possible to drink beers and have a snack in the store. You could find some pretty rare stuff. The main problem is that the price listing. As the price is not stamped on the bottles or on the shelves, you have to chek a list or ask the clerk. A must go in Philly. |
