I was there for lunch on a Wednesday. The place was empty except for a trio of suited workers and two grannies. It soon got busier. Pretty sure the ambiance is more alive at night. The food is awesome, southish style, nothing subtile. I had their fried mac’n cheese po-boy (sandwich) with a pint of Bell’s Hopslam. It kinda made my day.

Stopped in early on a Saturday night. Sat at the bar. Fairly dark and pretty loud place although it wasn’t even 7pm. Food was good although I did not try one of their more complex specials they had on the board. Tap list wasn’t too bad, didn’t check bottles. Had a good balance between bar food and beers although the atmosphere was distracting (guess I’m getting a bit old for places like this).

Stopped in to grab some lunch while visiting the city. Sort of a dive-ish kind of bar, dark and not very well lit. Nice selection on tap and I went with a Sculpin. Menu looked decent but I asked the bartender for a recommendation and I went with the Chicken Po Boy with a side of Mac. Good stuff. Cool bar.

This is the first craft beer bar in the Philly area. It has a great corner tavern feel and a staff that makes it like that. The beer selection is always top notch, lots of locals and always a couple of rare ones for the east coast anyway. The food is always good, try the bacon pop corn. The prices are decent for philly. I will stop every time when in Old City.

Full of character, and full of people on a Saturday lunchtime, but still got a seat at the bar, good service, and friendly chat from the clientele. The beer choice was wide, and the ones’s I tried were certainly good.

Stopped by around 10pm on 26/05/12 - memorial day weekend Saturday, it wasn’t too busy and we were two of only 6 at the bar. Decent selection from the 20 or so taps, I didn’t need to consult the bottle menu. Service was prompt and friendly, samples given, not busy mind as previous. Food looked great as we drooled over a burger that someone else at the bar was eating. Will definately re-visit.

I have a 22 year love affair with the Khyber Pass. I drank my first Yuengling Porter and Sierra Nevada while sitting at its beautifully worn bar. I’ve seen more bands play there than I can remember. The Khyber was my spot to bring a date drink at the bar or see a show. The stage, sweat, smoke and live bands are long gone. The old jukebox and eclectic beer selectiion remain. The current Khyber Pass Pub is a beer bar that has a dining room. Staff is attentive, taps are plenty and you can still get a bottle of PBR like the old days. In my personal beer and music history the Mighty Khyber while always rank high with me.

Bacon Popcorn!!!!!! A food menu that tries something new and does it well. A great taste but not for everyone, especially if you don’t like pork. On the stereo was a constant 60’s garage soundtrack, it totally fit. The beers are great and everything from Dog Fish Head to Victory to Lagunitas and Lost Coast. on tap with an ever changing fresh sheet. Half empty or at capacity, the srevice didn’t change for me on my few visits here. It’s worth it.
