Very cool spot next door to Foodery II. Very eclectic menu with amazing variety: baby octopus, antelope, hangar steak, pot pie, liver mousse, etc. Food was excellent. Prices very fair. Tap list was all local stuff, although a lot of the beers were subpar: diacetyl batch of Troegs Sunshine Pils, odd Yards and PBC stuff, other weird breweries I’ve never heard of with decent to inferior beer. Nice to have local focus but the tap list needed some gutting. Service was excellent. Outdoor patio seating upstairs was awesome. Awesome ambiance.

Had lunch here during the craft beer express. Busy but we got a table fairly fast... Solid line up beers. I had a burger which was tasty and Yards love stout. Good amount of local beers available. Service was decent.. Overall: Decent place to get a bite to eat and a beer

Visited the standard tap on my last visit back home to Philadelphia. Located in Northern Liberties, it is a hop skip and a jump from I-95 and center city. Plenty of free on street parking are with in 2 or blocks. Upon entering the building, you are greeted with a small bar and tables surrounding. The next room is a dinning room with a fair amount of booths. Upstairs there is more bars and dinning rooms and a patio. All the beers on tap were locally produced in the Philadelphia metro from the likes of Flying Fish, Slyfox, Yards, Lancaster Brewing. Had two cask conditioned ales including Troegs Hop Back which was especially delisous. I never looked at the bottle selection. Service was good, bartenders and waitresses were attentive and more than capable. Beer was served in clean and correct glasswear. I did not order any food, but others in my party did. The food looked and smelled appetizing.

I’ve been to Standard Tap a couple times, usually after concerts - which doesn’t make for memorable reviews, but the place is always solid. Nice standard craft selection.

I like this place and I made it a habit to go here for the fresh Firkin every Wednesday. It can get quite busy, ever at 6 on a weeknight. The food was prepared well and standard pub fare at a reasonable price. All the taps were within 80 or 100 miles, so that was nice. The beer was served in the proper glasses and the price was fair $4 to $7. If you are looking for specific belgian beers. there are other places that do that better. I think that Standard has the best focus on the local NE brews. In a city like Philly, a bar has to do something subtly different in order to not get lost in the crowd.

Came in on a weekday, early evening. Not really knowing what to order, the bartender asked which beers I liked. I said malty, brown, bit sweet. Instead of suggesting me something, he just started tapping me a beer. First my friend thought he was pouring a sample, but no. The guy had made his choice on what I should drink. I had drunk about a quarter of the beers that were on the list, and I wouldn’t have been pleased with drinking something not new. Also it is quite rude, especially in a place like this, to just randomly start pouring beer for people you don’t know, without asking their approval. Oh yeah, the beer sucked monkey balls. Can’t judge the food, but it smelled great. Place didn’t feel very cosy, bit of a cold and impersonal atmosphere.

Nice corner bar in Northern Liberties right across the street from the foodery .... 20 taps and two hand pumps of all local brews ..... the bar was small with about 15-20 stools and lots of table seating ... didn’t see the upstairs ... had a ham panini which was decent the breakfast foods looked great .... all in all it was a clean old neighborhood bar with decent prices 5-6 bucks a pint and friendly bartenders

This was a pretty nice bar, it doesn’t have an incredible selection, but it does have a pretty good one. We noticed right away that most of the list was from PA or southern Jersey, so it was heavy on local stuff (at least the night we were there). A pretty solid atmosphere and a nice place to grab a drink. This is more a fun bar with a nice beer selection than a beer geek bar, but I’m fine with that. I liked places like this.

Big fan of this place. Liked it better than Monk’s Cafe really, although the selection is not nearly as great. Really killer vibe with a good crowd. Lots of good "talent" (i.e. attractive females), not that I care as I am getting married. There’s also loads of space both downstairs and upstairs, and it’s got a fun atmosphere. The tap list is long - maybe 20 beers or so - and very local-heavy. I think I counted one or two beers on the whole list that weren’t from PA. However, you’re likely to see some interesting local obscurities that you haven’t yet ticked, and some of them will be tasty. I had a Flying Fish Exit 9 (good tick) and a Manayunk California Dreamin IPA (so-so tick). The food is pretty solid if you get a chance to try it. Service is pretty good, even when it’s busy. I’ll be back whenever I’m in town again.

Great atmosphere, I have yet to have the opportunity to eat here but have heard good things. Easy to grab beers with a great local selection. Had dock street, troegs, lancaster, yards and victory on tap.
