| UDBeernut (53), Saugerties, New York | | April 25, 2012 Came here to kill time before Eulogy opened at 5. Walk into building and greated by a large open bar, seating around. Brewing equip and more tables up stairs. 9 beers on tap, 1 cask. Value score high as we hit happy hour... 2 pours for $5.50. Schwartzbier is tasty. Pleasent time. | | Leafs93 (74), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania | | March 25, 2012 Very similar to the Princeton location. Beers seemed a little uninspired. Decent food. | | chrispratt (14), , | | March 3, 2012 Had a couple Russian River beers here for beer week. Pretty decent brewpub. | | aj1451 (12), Vancouver, British Columbia | | February 10, 2012 Tasty food, but unremarkable beers. This is a true brew pub, it pleasingly smelled like the malty boil in the kettle when we arrived. The food was quite good with local ingredients and the portions were huge. Too big for me but everyone else love the size.
The beer was standard brewpub beer, it quenched the thirst, but no chances are taken and I am sure it appeals to a huge demographic. The room was slick, and well designed, one of the more design oriented places I went to.
In another city this place would stand out, but in Philadelphia, it seemed almost tame. The food is the only thing that would draw me back. | | watson1977 (55), The dub c, Pennsylvania | | September 26, 2011 Very cool atmosphere...hardwood and brick with nice dim lighting. Very warm feel. A couple tvs, stage setup for live music, bar and restaurant seating with a second floor. Very friendly service...attractive bartenders kate and cate were both outgoing and fun. Menu is small but very tasty and fairly priced with a focus on local ingredients. Pretzels and flatbread were excellent. Beer is decent. If in the neighborhood, id go here again. And id hook up with either one of the kates (cates) haha! | | Capa (172), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | August 21, 2011 Finally stopped by this place while showing some friends around the city. Very trendy decor. Had the sampler which was one of each of their offerings currently on tap. Pretty solid brews top to bottom but the IPA and Keller were the best two, I thought. The food was quite nice- pretzels rocked. The server ws good but a bit of a pusher, which I didn’t enjoy too much. Overall it was a fun and tasty experience. Beer was good but not great. Probably not gonna be a regular stop for me but might be a place to show out of towners a good meal. | | joeyplush (12), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania | | August 14, 2011 Pretty cool layout and design. Lots of space, nice comfortable, open feel. Believe they only sell their own brews but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of everything that I tried there. Live music as well most nights. I would definitely go back again and based on some of the other ratings would be comfortable giving the food a shot. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | June 8, 2011 Very fun place in Philly with live bands some nights, a very modern interior, wide bar, and lots of open space. The beer here is wildly underrated and consistently some the best beers I’ve had from a brewpub that doesn’t bottle or attempts to enter into the beer geek hype world. Lots of solid German and Czech styles. Food has been very good both times I’ve been here. Prices are very reasonable. Service is quick. Probably my favorite beer bar in Philly besides Monks Cafe, and Triumph is in a much better location so easier to drag your friends along with you over here. | | ben4321 (117), Hoboken, New Jersey | | May 6, 2011 Visited this place when I was staying down the street. It was a nice looking brewpub with some fairly interesting beers. The food looked pretty solid, though I didn’t try anything. A place I’d revisit. | | obxdude10 (99), Pottstown, Pennsylvania | | April 3, 2011 The Triumph brewpub in Philly is a mixed bag. The location is great; right on Chestnut in Olde City. Parking is a bit of a struggle. You can either pay $20 at a local lot or take your chances at a meter on Chestnut or on Front. The ambiance of the restaurant is outstanding. This is the third entry into Triumph’s presence in the Delaware Valley, and they are all inline with one another. The interior is very upscale, and so is the menu here in Philly. They have everything from burgers to mussels to grilled cheese to wings to steak. I was quite surprised and excited to see and drink a Bengal Gold IPA here! According to their website before visiting the pub, they didn’t have this beer. But when I got there, they did. The Bengal Gold was one of my first favorite IPAs, and I got to enjoy it once again! I ate the mushroom ravioli, which were fantstic. Everyone else in my party ate the burger, which they reported were way too salty. Thinking back on that note, the greens atop my ravioli were very salty, as well. That would be the only negative thing I could say about Triumph in Philly. If and when given the chance to return, I will. |
