oOJUXEOo (3), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | October 28, 2009 Nice place. You can sit at the bar, eat a meal at a table, watch a game, and can still take the kids if you want. They are moving soon across the street to their new location. I enjoyed my first visit there, and will definitely be back to check out the new place. | | afireinside96 (29), Mountville, Pennsylvania | | July 2, 2009 A nice place with a casual atmosphere. The dining area was separated from the bar by a set of stairs and the hostess stand. It really helped to keep bar noise on that side of the building. They had their 4 year round offerings on draft and several others including a Berliner Weisse, California Common, and a Helles lager. They also have a hand pump that usually serves their pale ale project beers. Food was good with a nice variety to pick from. Prices were acceptable for the area and the service was above average. My only complaint is that it was a bit small and on a busy day could be somewhat cramped. | | jmm635 (33), Havertown, Pennsylvania | | May 5, 2009 Pretty nice place. I’m not a huge fan of their beers but those always have a nice selection of their stuff on tap. Food was pretty good. Wings were good. The best thing about Sly Fox is the events. Love the IPA Project and the Bock Fest is a great time! Who doesn’t like a good goat race? | Wynne (1), , Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | April 26, 2009 Ambiance is simple and no-frills; nothing too fancy to make you feel out of place, but certainly not a dirty or dingy interior. Nicely decorated. First impression is that it’s a charming, homespun sort of place. Service was nearly perfect on three occasions; one time it was a bit slow, but servers were all very nice. Selection is modest compared to some places, but that only makes it easier to find a beer or a dish that you love. The burgers there are absolute ambrosia. The Pughtown Porter, Royal Weiss, Panacea barleywine and Incubus abbey triple are all really nice. Couldn’t believe how cheap it was--four people fed very well and each having two or three beers, and if I recall correctly the total was like 70 bucks including the tip. Ever been to a place that made you almost dreamy from the sheer pleasure of eating fantastic food and drinking fantastic beer at the same time? Take the bus to Sly Fox, you don’t want to drive. | | Nejhleader (64), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania | | March 28, 2009 an okay place, not a bad atmosphere, had a decent selection of their brews on tap, didn’t get any food so not sure how good that is. | | TheCaptain (32), Lancaster, Pennsylvania | | March 1, 2009 Stopped here for a bite and some brew. Sat at the bar and service was quick and friendly. Sampled a few and brought home some 113. Food was good(lunch fare), place was clean and it was nice to see the brew kettles at the bar. Didn’t really explore the place but it was relatively quiet. Samples were given freely by request and some speciality-limited edition brew for sale. Will be back! | | Nate (194), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | January 5, 2009 Had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Quiet. Great service, prompt and friendly. Good selection of drafts available and many bottles to go if you wished. I would eat and drink here again. | | watson1977 (10), , Pennsylvania | | January 3, 2009 [ Updated January 12, 2009 ] absolutely love going to sly fox. great beer and a great staff here! the wings are outstanding, particularly the jerk seasoned wings and i’ve never had a bad menu item. brian orielly makes outstanding beers and there are always plenty to choose from on draft. corey is an outstanding bartender and knows his beer. | | LaMichael (599), Colorado | | March 5, 2008 Wood and green paneling decor. Food is pub grub with some decent stuff. Beer on tap was pilsener, helles, Belgian golden, dry stout, a few of their more common, low ABV typical-type stuff, but they had quite a few bottles to go. Not sure I dig the decor, but it works. A nice place, I will probably make it back for the goat races of one of the IPA releases. | | eaglefan538 (90), Wilmington, Delaware | | January 17, 2008 Restaurant atmosphere wasn’t that special, much like a basic inexpensive restaurant (even a Denny’s). Nice casual bar atmosphere. Light foods were good (wraps and the beer pretzels in particular), although I didn’t have the main courses / meals. The service was good, although the mid-day staff didn’t blow me away with their beer knowledge. My needs were met and as a beer establishment, this place was pretty good. As a food establishment, good, but probably not worth seeking out only for the food. |
