Nice little place in Shadyside. I had a few new beers and we had a pizza that wasn’t very good. Pretty normal place lots of TVs and space.

OK, so I’ve been here before and fought the traffic just to find out it was closed. Today was also a parking bummer. Lots of people enjoyng themselves all over this street but I could not find a parking space. Had to park 4 blocks away. Once inside not a bad place. Small campy and fast fried foody. Eye candy as well. Pretty crowded. I did find a beer or two that I never tasted after 2.5K and I was happy bout that. Well, I guess it was all worth it. I really dislike pgh traffic, sometimes I wonder why I even bother.

I wasn’t impressed with this place. The concept is great food and great micros. Well, they have great food, with your usual suspects of beers (Miller Lite, Coors Light, and Michelob Ultra) and an average list of imports and micros. Again, the usual suspects. I guess the local crowd dictates the selection of beers, but this concept should be listed a great beer bar (it isn’t).

Great selection. Service was excellent, very attentive and fast. Didn’t get a chance to try the food but the table next to us had some pizza that looked and smelled pretty good. Would come back for sure.

Visited several times, both as a college kid and as a real person. The ambiance of the place is an attempt to be trendy. It is dimly lit, with red walls and lighting that accents the off-centered colors. The tap selection is usually pretty good. It has a decent melange of basic beers (Miller Lite), basic craft brews (i.e, Brooklyn Brown Ale or Magic Hat), and some harder-to-find and seasonal stuff. The taps rotate fairly often, which allows them to almost always have something that is new and original. They also have a good year-round group of taps, consisting of classic standards, such as Hoegaarden and Old Speckled Hen. The food is simple, but good, with a special nod to their pizza, which is homemade, customizable, and good in any incarnation. Prices can be a bit higher for the beers, but they are not out-of-control. The only downfall to the place is the service, which is almost always sub-par in the extreme. Still, it is definitely a good place for a late night drink and snack, or for a casual dinner.

so so selection of taps ... food offerings seem to be tasty but ... too many loud obnoxious college-age brats and frat boy types lurking about the place everytime i’ve gone in there ... annoying ...

not a bad place. decent pizza and subs, nice friendly service, and a whole lot of not-that-much on tap. nothing hard-to-find, but still better than average.

Decent place for Shadyside: not too crowded usually and doesn’t seem as hip and happenin’ as other places despite the name and location. The beer selection is ok.

Bites is small and somewhat cramped and dirty. Beer selection is good and sandwiches were good as well. I would like to move the taps from Bites over to Elbow Room. Great beer prices for takeout!!

I like coming here. I also get fast friendly service, They have some rotating taps, and a nice selection of seasonals. I can usually always find a table, and it’s not overally crowded even on Friday nights. Food is good, Sandwiches, Pizza and they are connected to the Elbow Room which is next door, you can get lunch and dinner entrees.
