Not sure why I never hit this mad mex before, its in my locale. Right off of greentree road in a strip mall that is elevated above the rest of the traffic. Inside I initially think is a little small but certainly bigger than the oakland mex. Big U shaped bar and a dining area off to the right. Easy parking out front. Lots of beer, like any mad mex and there were two that I hadn’t tasted before, both very rare beers. Help was extremely positive and the eye candy was nice. Good overall beer drinken experience.

If Hunter S. Thompson ever designed a Mexican Restaurant while under the influence of mescaline it would look like this. Very dramatic interior full of corrugated steel and depictions of el diablo. They have close to 20 beers on tap and most of them are local and regional craft taps with some seasonals. They have incredibly good food. A real unique take on Mexican food and very hot which is fantastic. I’ll definitely check out some of the other locations as well.

A nice Mad Mex location. As mentioned in their other rates, they all pretty much have the same feel, the same food and the same great selection. I would rate all of them the same except for the North Hills one which was a little nicer. I’m too lazy to go back and adjust all my ratings for these places. Just know if you are going to Mad Mex you are going to get very good food (try the bleu cheese..best I’ve ever had), great beer selection and a dark and barry atmosphere.

I have been holding out adding and rating this post for a long time, about 8 years. It was actually the place where i got my first beer that I have ever rated. They have about 17 taps of craft beer that are constantly rotating. You will get some good beers on tap that you can’t find ’on tap’ in the south hills.
