| Beerman6686 (24), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | May 17, 2012 Great Belgian selection but very pricey. Berst o go for happy hour when all belgians are half off. food is pretty solid too but again pricey. The Hop devil soup is just freaking amazing though. | | DiarmaidBHK (307), Pennsylvania | | April 25, 2012 In terms of beer selection if you’ve been to one sharp edge you’ve been to them all. Lots of Elgians but not much variety between the locations. The food is solid and the prices less so. This pub is located in an old house which adds a lot of ambience. | | N0AH (10), Pennsylvania | | March 13, 2011 Part of the "Sharp Edge" chain of local restaurants that specialize in Belgian beer. Food is good but pricey. Beer also is good... also is pricey. The Belgian selection contains all the usual options and a few unusual ones, the American craft selection is good and usually features a few rarities. The Creekhouse has a strange layout in that it is a converted private residence. What’s the opposite of an "open floorplan"? This is it. | | jessilea (12), edinboro, Pennsylvania | | February 26, 2011 [ Updated March 18, 2011 ] excellent beer selection for internationals, fewer microbrews. Very good food. Can be a very pricey evening out, but usually well worth it. I really enjoy the ambiance of the creekhouse too, very nice building. | | civforprez (10), Galesburg, Illinois | | December 8, 2010 Great selection but a little overpriced and with poor service that is remarkably slow, even for Pittsburgh standards. | KougMonkey (1), Connecticut does not count - explanation | | November 24, 2010 I would score this place much higher if it wasn’t for the below average food. They tried too hard to be trendy and failed. I mean their Mac & Cheese wasn’t even as good as Kraft out of the box and I have had better fish & chips at Long John SIlvers. Their prices for food were too expensive as well. They should just concentrate a on a simple traditional pub menu and beer.
Go and spend your money on beer not the food. | | JStax (43), Devola, Ohio | | November 8, 2010 Went during happy hour on a Friday. Walked in the door and was seated almost immediately. As I walk by the bar, I see that it is loaded up with at least 40 taps, most of which were Belgians, the others were high end domestics and imports. Along with their impressive draft selection, they had an even better bottle selection. For a person from WV, this place is heaven. I started off with a Piraat and was happy to see that it came in a Piraat tulip glass. My guest ordered a Lindeman’s Frambois, and it also came in it’s appropriate glass. This place goes above and beyond anything I have ever experienced. The service was a bit slow and the beer was way overpriced, but if you go at happy hour like I did, it isn’t all that expensive. I made it out of there with two meals, two pints, and a sampler for under $60. Less than I expected but had I not went at happy hour, the damage would have been a lot greater. | BT (5), Newtown, Connecticut does not count - explanation | | February 4, 2010 I haven’t been been here in a few years, but the last time I was there it was awesome. I love it. | | Brewman63 (39), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | November 21, 2009 I realized that I haven’t updated my review for a few years and a lot has changed since then. They continue to excell at providing the best selection of beers on tap anywhere in the area (particularly Belgiums) but the biggest improvement the past few years has been the food. It has gone to second-rate to first-class. Everything from pizzas to appetizers to sandwiches to entrees to desserts are now fantastic. I have been here on many occasions over the past couple of years and since they’ve changed their menu I can’t think of one thing I’ve had to eat that has dissapointed me. Gret beer, great food, great atmosphere. What else can you ask for? | | Fatumsch (15), | | July 21, 2009 If you love beer you’ve got to make to one of the Sharp Edge establishment. Many unique beers on tap or in bottle. The Creekhouse house has more of a unique ambience than the other three so I like it the best. |
