22 reviews for Central Market - Plano
| angrypirate06 (15), Texas | | September 28, 2009 Decent beer selection, but would go to the Dallas one if I could. Also a good place to pick up great cheeses and fresh bread on the way to a tasting. | Sammer (3), Plano, Texas does not count - explanation | | September 6, 2009 Good selection of beers and wine. An excellent place to stop if you are having a party and need beer, wine, bread, cheese, etc. Food quality is superb. Prices tend to be a bit high, but overall quality of the product makes it worth the trip. Good selection of meats and seafood too. | HerrBier (1), Richardson, Texas does not count - explanation | | September 2, 2009 Not a typical grocery store; good beer selection, and amazing variety of food; also, this one is not a toney as the Dallas one. I guess my biggest complaints are that it gets crowded at lunch time too quickly and the service drops off sharply when that happens which is not unusual, just a hint to not go there at noon on a weekday. | Gerstoscar (3), , does not count - explanation | | July 8, 2009 [ Updated July 11, 2009 ] Overall good selection, had the impression it was a little bit lacking on some beers specially since some friends talked to me into visiting this place. I was sold into thinking I could find some beers I haven’t have in a long time, that this was kind of unique place. I did not get any help nor I ask for it but I wonder around to check the selec. For about 20 min. Nobody ask me if I needed any help. I found the selection not impresive they could do better. A small selection of singles basically corona and some local breweries. Prices high. I guess a good selec. for a super market. | Botnik (7), Carrollton, Texas does not count - explanation | | October 17, 2008 If you want some cheese to go with the beer, this is the place. 2nd best selection in the Dallas/Plano area. | | TizzleJizzle (11), Garland, Texas | | September 30, 2008 Central Market Plano’s atmosphere was cold and boring because it’s a grocery store. The service wasn’t very good, and I say this because I was looking around at their selection for 10 minutes and not 1 worker said anything to me except excuse me. The highlight of my customer service experience was when I went to pay and this cute chick scanning my beverages started talking to me about beer. Their selection was pretty good and I saw a few things I haven’t seen at other places around town. Overall this is a decent place to find beer, but I’ll only be going back if they exclusively have a beer I’m looking for, or if I want a change of pace. | | AmEricanbrew (77), Doing Rogue, Louisiana | | May 8, 2008 Good beer selection though maybe a notch below the Lovers Lane Central Mkt. Same great deli / prepped food section as most of these stores. Reasonable beer prices for the area. Staff and service is hit or miss. An easy stop just off the Bush turnpike. | | Swalden28 (24), McKinney, Texas | | April 23, 2008 Well, I went here one time....No interest in going back for beer...I felt closterphobic in here. Have a nice beer selection, but looks like they focus more on wine. Not a single person greeted me here, but oh well....Beer manager did not know beers very well....We are in Texas and he did not even know which beers belonged to Rahr & Sons, a Ft. Worth brewery......He was more of a wine guy..... | | ilovedarkbeer (38), Dallas, Texas | | March 8, 2008 Too crowded on the weekends. Not as good a selection as Dallas central market by a long shot. A few different beers but nothing worth buying. Meh. | | BMan1113VR (108), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas | | March 3, 2008 Decent selection, but not as good as Dallas’s, although much better than the Southlake location. Selection seems to be a bit more limited for beer than the Dallas location, but the Wine and sake selection seemed a bit bigger and more extensive. Had some things not at the Dallas location. Originally went up there to get another bottle of DFH Red & White which was sold out at the Dallas store. Ended up buying the DFH, a sake, a Cider and a couple other beers. Not bad. |
