| blutt59 (51), Dallas, Texas | | October 9, 2009 One of two go to stores in town, usually have everything available here. anything is fair game as a single, great sandwiches also | thirdeye11 (6), Texas does not count - explanation | | September 2, 2009 Mr. G’s is good for a number of reasons. First, they are one of only 2 places I know of in DFW to allow sales of any single from a 4/6 pack. Second they have an enormous selection of Belgian and rare imports that may be the best in town for a single store.
The only issue I’ve had thus far is 2 skunked beers I bought there, but since they took care of me I almost didn’t mention it. Quality seems usually good, but they have so much that some stuff is bound to be out of date.
Others have mentioned that they got good service in the beer area, but I haven’t had anyone really assist me with beer. Generally don’t need it, but is still nice to know there are ’beer guys’ working these stores and I haven’t seen evidence of it. Regardless I will still shop here due to nice selection.
Oh I guess the last issue I should mention is that they’re more expensive than most in town. | | ericandersnavy (27), crossroads, Texas | | July 13, 2009 i was finally in the area and actually was stopping in for the deli also, but it was closed. the selection was second to none that i have seen in the D/FW area. place was well lit and clean and organized pretty good. i didnt see any cold singles, but wasnt really looking either. nice place to go. | Gerstoscar (3), , does not count - explanation | | June 28, 2009 Probably the time of the day. Too crowded. Nobody to help me. But I understand it was friday. Prices a little bit high but I was with some friends visiting so I got what I wanted. Didn’t try deli. Good store layout. Well placed signs. I will stop again. Hope they have better prices next time. | | Tejas (16), Dallas, Texas | | May 8, 2009 Even though I don’t dig the Belgians I’m always impressed at their selection. Seem to have something new each time I walk in. Same goes for the micros, except I like them. Overall great selection and an average price. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Only thing better than their selection is the pastrami sandwiches. Holy Shit their good! Oh yeah, wine selection ain’t to shabby either. | | angrypirate06 (15), Texas | | March 26, 2009 Great selection, you can take singles as well. Wide array of beers/sake/ice ciders available. Friendly staff will talk to you and advise on new beers as well.
But the real kicker is the excellent deli there! Definitely worth grabbing some food there before a night of excellent beer! | crajun (1), , Texas does not count - explanation | | January 23, 2009 Mr. G’s - has the most selection of any beer stores I am aware of in the Dallas area.
Nothing special about the food, but the service and knowledge of the staff is superb!
I frequent for that reason... | | BMan1113VR (108), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas | | November 18, 2008 [ Updated March 26, 2009 ] My new favorite beer store in Dallas. I can’t remember the last
time I bought +$60 at a Dallas store for my self, but I did
here. They had all the seasonals including SA Chocolate Bock,
Red Hook Winter and Double Black, Our Special (about 2 weeks
before anyone else), Bigfoot, Ted Fidy, de Proef beers, and
more. I plan on going back often. No food ordered when I was there. | Botnik (7), Carrollton, Texas does not count - explanation | | October 17, 2008 This place has the best selection in Plano and possibly in Dallas. Always first to get desired seasonals. | | Bhops (34), Dallas, Texas | | October 11, 2008 Wow, I need to get up to north dallas more. Really good selection, for these parts. Didn’t try the food options but they did seem to have a deli or something over there. Lots of belgians, lots of american craft beers, good source for divine reserve. Folks there were really cool but I didnt’ pump them for beer knowledge. |
