Stopped in for dinner after riding to I&I for a gose tick on April 18, 2013.
This place used to be 2nd on Second (as evidenced by the floormat that still has the name) for anyone familiar with the area. Itís a standard long but narrow space with brick walls. There are a couple of tables outside and plenty of tables inside.
They boast that they have 33 beers available, which appears to be true however only 4 of them are on tap. The rest are in bottles. Of the tap choices I went with Lagunitas IPA which was decent (normally I love this beer, but itís got a month or two on it) and was served in a really thick Dos Equis glass. The sandwich board outside says that the featured beer is Dogfish Head Palo Santo but I didnt ask what "featured" meant.
The food was pretty good and priced about like what other places that serve overly fancied food charge (ie $10 for a burger). I think this place took a page out of the Fathers Office book in that my side of ketchup was 1/4 fl oz. The burger was the Caprese burger which had mozerlla cheese and balsamic vinegar on it. It ate pretty good. I think Iím going to start making a note of this in my ratings: the burger was cooked medium. I always ask for it medium rare knowing that no one will actually serve it to me medium rare (with 3 exceptions so far: Blue Palms, and I forget the other two, which kind of defeats the purpose). Chinoskillzianís bacon burger looked good too.
Service was friendly and prompt though this was about 20 minutes before closing so there werent a ton of other customers. Iíll likely stop back in at some point when in downtown Pomona, especially if I have a craving for a bottle of Knuckle Sandwich.
