These guys give a great (and free) tour / tasting. Really go into a nice amount of detail, and you get to cover the whole place (which is impressively large). Finishes in the barrel room, which is really quite impressive. The koolship is not part of the regular folks tour sadly, but Iíve sure they take some people to see it. The tasting was 4 beers, including their house beer which is only sold there (and I wish was available in distro and it was really quite clean, easy drinking, and flavorful). People working here are nice. Definitely feels like a professional operation. I would recommend making the reservation for the tour on-line, as some people I saw try to walk in were told they couldnít get on a tour for a couple of hours.

Nice stop. Weíd planned on stopping in for bottles, but surprise! We were greeted with a question about whether or not we wanted free beer! Got a free flight, talked to a very helpful and knowledgeable waitress about the trip we were on, and then she gave us free swag! This was a surprise!

This place was great. Free flight of 4! Got some swag for mentioning we were in from Michigan and they appreciated us picking them for their vacation. Maine has nice people. Free beer and swag, knowledgeable staff, informed us about the Maine Beer Trail. Good beer, good times.

While looking for another Brewery, we drove by Allagash and decided to stop in. A server met us at the door and told us how it worked there and the flight of beer was free. That sounded good to me. No choice of beers. they just had 4. Itís a nice clean and modern place. I am just not that big into Belgian beers. A Belgian beer lover would have enjoyed it more than me.

What American craftbeer fan doesnít love Allagash?...definitely the best non-Belgiumís in the US making Belgium beer! Maybe as good or better then the Belgiumís making Belgium beer in the US (Ommegang). The place is great...absolutely beautiful taproom...and even if you donít take the tour (I didnít) you can drink your beers in a section of the brewery and see and take photos of much of the equipment. If you read any of these reviews you know you only get 4-4oz tasters..."but theyíre free"!! Hey hey!! Very enjoyable beer stop if in the Portland area or just passing through...itís not a long stop. Although I highly recommend you time it when Foundation and Austin Street and Bissel Brothers across the street are open (same place Maine Beer started out 5 years or so ago).

Tucked away in the front of an industrial park that has two other breweries. Those other two were closed on the day I was near. Anyway, the tasting room is large, inviting. Servers were friendly and knowledgable. Bottles and other gizmos for sale. I picked up a Coolship Red bottle and a sticker for my beer fridge.

One of the best brewery tours Iíve been on, as a result have been a fan of this brewery ever since. The tour was cheap and very good, barrel room is definitely impressive...probably the most impressive Iíve seen to this point. Located in an industrial part of town but they carve out a nice area for themselves. If youíre in the area, you should definitely go by this place and get a tour!

As big fan of Allagashís sour beers I felt that a visit to the mothership was a must. We booked online a few weeks before for a free tour. The brewery is located a 15/20 minute drive out west from central Portland and was easy to find. The tour lasts for a about an hour and they take you around the brewery and end up in the barrel room for a tasting of 4 beers. The barrel room itself is pretty cool. If you decide against the tour you can just rock up and get a free flight of 4 beers in the shop/bar area. The beers were mostly their standard offerings, but you canít complain with free! Staff were knowledgably and friendly. The shop area is pretty sizeable and is full of a creative variety of merchÖ. pretty much any object they could squeeze their name onto! They had about 8/10 different beers available to takeway including 2 sours on our visit. You arenít gonna find a load of new beer here, but if you havenít visited before it is well worth it.

Thanks to "El Mustachio" aka Branch aka the Head Brewer, we had an amazing time! But first things first: You book a tour, they are very reasonable priced. Our guide (Ben, if Iím not mistaken) was very correct, friendly and the perfect man for the job. Good tour, interesting, with 4 tasters at the end in the barrel room. Of course the Allagash White is one of them! After the tour we hung out a bit at the bar and where talking about lambic. Our guide offered us a quick look at the Koelschip, where we drank a Ghoulship! Awesome experience. Because the guy was so enthousiastic about lambic, I pulled out a 5L bag of Cantillon lambic I brought along on our trip. Word spreaded quickly and most of the employees still working enjoyed some of Jean his fine lambic. As a thank you, Branch took us to the barrel room for some more tasting. Brilliant experience. Especially the Nancy vertical was something to remember! Overall, this brewery has a great vibe, people are so friendly, I enjoyed it to the fullest!

Nice taproom setup with a free flight of tasty Allagash beer just for walking in. Didnít get a chance to take the tour but everyone I encountered was super friendly. They only had four of theirs on tap but they were free. Definitely worth the trip.
