This place was a bit out of the way, but had the Sucaba I was looking for so swung over. Great little grocery store with a walk in cooler that could not have been packed any tighter with beer. The stuff they had was excellent though, just wish I had more room in my luggage to take things home. Great service that was friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about beer even though the beer guy was not there.

The PDX insiderís store. First, I am biased because I have a good relationship with the beer buyer Justin. Itís a grocery store, so donít expect much in the way of ambiance, but Iíve always had great service here when I ask about things. Selection is typically solid, and theyíll hang onto bottles for a bit longer due to being out of the way. Prices are average for around town, which is to say, thereís not much room to complain. I frequent this place at least twice a month, and Iím very glad I do. Recommended.

Smallish grocery store with a beer selection thta impressed me. They seem to have the best Belgium beers. Almost al of the Trappist beers and the best Flemish old ales (Rodenbach, Duchesse de Bourgohne to name a few). Iím not that familiar with the local beer market in Portland, but I got what I came in for.

The store itself has some funny stuff inside of it. It definitely is a market, and it does have a nice LITTLE beer cooler. Wow, the actual space where the sell the beer is TINY. With that being said, you would assume that Iím going to get into how crappy the selection is, but I canít; they do so well, with the little space that they do have. Prices werenít any higher, or lower, than any of their competitors. Given the fact that they only have so much space, they have great representation, beer wise. I wouldnít expect to find a white whale here, but youíll find some stuff thatís floating around everywhere else. They may have a couple of unique beers, that are hard to find in other places, but thatís not completely the case. Overall, great place, and Iíd like to explore this part of Portland more. Itís in one of their many "pocket neighborhoods".

Small but excellent selection in the beer cooler of this grocery store. The staff is very friendly and you can find stuff here that no one else has (left). I got a bottle of a Cascade sour that no one else in Portland had. Close to County Cork and Alameda brewing. Prices on par with other stores in the city.

Itís hard to rate the ambiance on this one ....but there is little ambiance needed for a walk in beer cooler... the ambiance is great beer.
If Justin is a around, he has a lot of knowledge and provides great service (as do the checkers) but for the most part itís a help yourself kind of place.
One of the best selection in Portland (next to belmont station and johns)
prices are just about retail price everywhere else from what i can figure. If lived in neighborhood I would go more often.

Walk in beer cooler. No problem, It was colder outside (below freezing I think). Really good selection. Must have been 15 or 20 beers I had never seen, let alone rated. Donít forget to take a hand basket into the cooler. Didn"t run into the beer guy, but the dude in charge was ok for casual discussion. Hit Belmont Station and this place.

Small market with an excellent beer cooler that I actually missed seeing at first when I was in there. The selection is really jampacked and excellent for the small amount of space. Props for the "Deal Corral" as well.

This place is funny, itís a small neighborhood grocery with a great beer cooler along the back wall. The selection is usually quite impressive, tons of Mikeller, Stone, Ale Smith, Russian River, and everything else you can want in Oregon. They also have a "Deal Corral" which holds stuff for some percent off. I recently got a Jackie Brown for $3 off the normal price! This is a fun place to visit when you donít want to make the trek to Johnís, Belmont Station, or all the way up to Vancouver.

Very small beer cooler set against the back wall of a small grocery. The cooler room is probably 14 feet long by 8 feet deep - that small - but boasts a respectable selection that impresses with quality over quantity. Being so small there will of course be some things that you would expect that they have - meaning some rare releases that hit the Portland area - yet they donít, but overall itís a really good mix of high quality bottles, and prices are a little above average but still fair. Quite close to Concordia Alehouse and McMenamins Kennedy School.
