Two walls of mirrors, one wall of windows looking out on colorful Hawthorne Ave. The beers are well known and high quality. Would be nice to have some guest taps but Bridgeport covers a wide range, with a lighter ale, a couple high hops, barley wine and assorted seasonals. Amodest sized menu but so much done so well. We had a marvelous polenta w/ marinara, suasage, garlice & fresh mozz (the last one left.) Last time had an excellent pizza, chewy, puffy, slightest char.

weird vibe on hawthorne, it sticks out as this faux-modern yuppie magnet of clean walls, wide open space like an art gallery, and an awkwardly placed bar in the center. draft beer selection is all standard bridgeport products though they do have two hand pumps. in a town like portland a place like this is laughable. maybe in des moines it would rock, but here, i’m surprised it’s not out of business.

A little stuffy and well to do feeling. An upscale but maybe a little uncomfortable pub on Hawthorne. Doesn’t really reflect it’s surroundings. Pricey as well. I like Bridgeport beers but I didn’t really care for this bar.

Happy hour rocks. $3 imperial pints, cheap food, understated and awesome all day Sunday. We didn’t eat this time (had happy hour asian food two doors west), but the menu is fairly standard pub grub. Service is attentive and friendly. Wish they had some interesting guest taps though.

Love the IPA. Service is generally good. Food can be a bit pricey.

A good but slightly boring brewpub located right in the middle of the hip Hawhtorne District. None of their beers stick out much to me though they’re all fine. Food is decent. They do have 3 beers on cask usually which I appreciate. Decent but I wouldn’t stop in unless you’re in the area.

Happen to hit this place during their very generous happy hour for some snacks and a Nitro Porter during a rain shower. Very good service, excellent prices lots of Bridgeport drafts to keep you smiling. Food was very well done, very good mac n cheese. 2 casks as well. Seasonal releases for sale at great prices.

There for lunch on a weekend. Service was quick, they answered my question and brought a pint. Ambiance bare wood and ferns, a few reproduction posters, and the zoobers on the street outside. Food was good, their brats are tasty and they cook properly. Only their own beers, on tap, but all of their regulars, including the porter, which they no longer bottle. Prices comparable to other alehouses. Parking is hard to find in that area.

Pretty similar to the other Bridgeport restaurant in Portland. I’ve been here only a couple times but the service/food/beer is essentially the same. The atmosphere is different though, and feels much cozier than the Bridgeport compound in the Pearl. I don’t like the Alehouse’s ambiance as much, but I like having a second Bridgeport to visit whenever I feel like it. Service is friendly, food is expensive during non-happy hour times (so make sure to go during happy hour), and the beer selection’s main focus is their seasonals (the constants are good, but aren’t as good as the seasonals).

Same great beer as the downtown location with a smaller, more intimate setting. Located right on Hawthorn in a very cool part of town, you can watch all the people pass by as you enjoy some wonderful food!
