For the relatively beer-barren St. John’s this is a nice hole in the wall. They have a great selection of local beers at $3/pint all the time one of the best deals in town. If there is a band playing and there is no cover they charge $4/pint and one dollar goes to the band. I think this is a fair deal. The more the band keeps you in there drinking the more they get paid so not bad. The atmosphere is a little weird since the area is long and most of hte sitting areas are in the back. The bar is a homemade job and not really the most comfortable place to sit with a pint but luckily the band kept me dancin’ the night I was there. As far as options on a Sat. night in St. John Plew’s is allright with me. They fill growlers with whatever you like too.

Rather like having a beer in somebody’s house. Comfortable couch and tables. They serve food, but I just stopped by for a beer. Quick and friendly service. Parking is sometimes hard to come by as it’s on street only.
