80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 OlaDunk (16) , Czech Republic | April 23, 2013 Great little shop! Some local beergeeks occupy the only two small tables. Too bad I always go by car, should stay once for a chat and a pivo. The service is great, I always get help finding stuff I never tried before and I rarely end up disappointed. Great selection of Czech beers, a few foreign ones also, but you dont really need them here. | 68 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 ElDesmadre (46) Mikołów, Poland | February 14, 2013 Nice selection of Czech micros. There were also lots of imports but I went there for the Czech stuff. The environment is rather uninviting, so although you may drink the stuff you bought in the shop (in the appropriate glassware), it is nothing comparable to a ’real’ pub. Very reasonable prices and a nice selection though - and that is the main point of a visit in a shop. | 74 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 15/20 TheCametron (26) , Czech Republic | February 7, 2013 A great beer shop with closed quarters for sitting. Good selection of Belgian gear and probably at the best prices I’ve seen in Prague. Duchesse De Bourgogne for 60 crowns (2 quid). Good Selection of Czech and some Mikkeler and TO Ol beers too. There’s a dedicated smoking room with a sealed door in the back. They were watching Top Gear and listening to some sort of spiritual music when we went. Ambience a bit lacking and not really a welcoming environment in the slightest but this is the Czech Republic and I don’t speak Czech so I’m the asshole really. I came for the beer... | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 motelpogo (31) Plzen, Czech Republic | November 14, 2012 A bit out of the way but with an excellent selection of non-Czech stuff including a few surprises. The staff kindly let me go behind their service area for a close inspection of all the fridges | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 heckfy (5) , Czech Republic | October 16, 2012 Biggest beer selection in Prague.
No food, no luxuries, just a lot of refrigerators and a lot of beer inside. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 brugmanneke (36) , Germany | June 18, 2012 Bottle shop with an impressive selection - especially for such a small place. I could not visit Pivni Galerie or Pivotéka Zlý Časy though, so I cannot draw comparisons. The offer includes Czech micros (like Matuska, Kocour, Radniční Jihlava), but the focus seems to be more on beers from abroad. A lot of beers are stored cooled, there are a few places to sit and appropriate glassware - everything you need to drink your purchases there. Prices seemed very reasonable. Friendly and helpful staff. Would love to have that shop in my neighborhood! |
