Overall the experience was positive. Nice atmosphere, lots of tables, buzzing with people. The beer selection was very weak, though. Not many real German beers were available. Lots of seasonals from American breweries. Prices were not cheap but you pay for the experience a bit.

Enormous space- ex-industrial interior- several bars throughout. They have like 6 bars and a total of nearly 100 taps pouring in total, and only 19 beers to choose from... Weak. And they have your typical macro German stuff from Hofbrau, some Abita (um), of course some Harpoon (although the Summer is a decent Kolsh) but they did have Racer 5, which is a great IPA. And it gets so obnoxiously crowded. I like what they’re going for, but it’s not really my scene. And if you have nearly 100 taps pouring at a time in NYC, diversify the selection a bit.

I suppose a lot of things should be compared to Bohemian Hall since this is the "new" outdoor beer garden for Queens and New York. The outdoor area may be slightly smaller and is laid out in a similar manner: rows of long benches, with the addition of a fire pit. The indoor area is much larger than Bohemian Hall and has tall tables for four and longer benches, some holding perhaps up to 20 people. Everything is draft, and most of the beers are standard beer garden and summer fare. There are a few surprises such as Stone Levitation Ale. This isn’t really the place to go to sample a few quality or rare-find beers. Most of the beers are easily accessible in other places but are of good quality overall. The main selling point here is drinking atmosphere, ideally with a group of friends to enjoy the open space and share pitchers... and this it does quite well. Other things to note: both beer and food are bar/grill service only; cash only; food is primarily standard summer grill food (burgers, brats, fries).
