I liked the Flying Saucer. Itís a large place but somehow felt comfortable and homely and it has a nice patio with chunky wooden tables and benches. The very long and impressive beer list is matched by a long, long bar, backed with shiny copper pennies. The walls and ceiling are covered in saucers each bearing a name, a number, a date and a quote. The different coloured edgings (gold, silver, bronze and red) denote how many beers the owner of the saucer has drunk, in multiples of 200. And thatís a lot of beer, as there are no half pours here. This is a great Saucer location - the service was some of the best Iíve received at any of their locations, lots of local Raleigh brews as well as stuff from all over.

Just off the centre, unpromising from the outside and a bit of a barn inside but a superb range of beers - US and imported - and simple long bar makes this a great place to while away half a day. Nice staff too.

Nice place. It can get crowded but Iíve still always managed to get a nice table at some point. They seem to keep some usual bottles on hand, as they dont seem to cycle through nearly as much as I would like. The taps do cycle through and the variety is awesome. Hit or miss on waitress but not by much nor often.

This place is all about the beer, and thatís the way it should be. It gets REALLY loud in there, and can be hard to find a seat some times. But the beer selection is rather amazing for a bar, and the staff are great. Definitely should ask about being a member of the UFO club - you get to keep track of all the beers youíve had at this place, and if you try 200 different ones, you get your name on a plate that goes on the wall and $100 towards an unveiling party. Food is OK, and there isnít much of a selection of it. Not a place I would go for a dinner, but great for a happy hour.

Big, big selection. Lots of local beers and stuff from all over the States. A flight of five beers will run you between $8 and $10. Also, the flights are predetermined, but the bartender had no problem subbing one out for me. The service was really good considering how busy they were. It looks like they have an efficient system going on behind the bar. Not only a must hit for visitors, but one that I would hit again and again if I was a local.

Great beer selection ... knowledgeable staff. Can be a little noisy, but a good place for good beer.
