| TURDFERGUSON (117), Carrboro, North Carolina | | April 29, 2012 Large brewpub, had about 12 of their beers on tap, 6 new ones for me. No flights and the samples were a little pricey. Beers were not so great as expected. They are trying at least. | | emacgee (57), Carrboro, North Carolina | | April 23, 2012 I haven’t eaten dinner here but I’ve had a brew or two at the bar before. Nice bar, lots of wood and good display on everything else. Very broad and open. Everything well priced and good options on the pours. Brews weren’t too great though. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | February 22, 2012 Located in a BIG brick building, the interior has a similar vibe to the Greensboro location... dark woods and brick... but it seems a bit more open based on the layout. The word "sprawling" came to mind. 12 beers on tap. I tried 5 today which ranged from average to good. Chicken fingers were above average and came with a nice dipping sauce. There is a large parking deck behind the store that is free with the exception of after 4PM Thurs-Sat. Bartender was very friendly. Prices are solid. No sampler per se, but they do offer 6 ounce tasters at $1.50 each and the bartender gave me a smaller taste of a couple more so I could save my sobriety. Overall a nice stop, and it’s always nice to find a place with multiple low gravity beers on tap. | | blipp (68), Newark, New Jersey | | January 31, 2012 Pretty big place with 12 house beers on draft and some barrel aged beers in bottles that I didn’t try. I was there in the afternoon, so it was pretty dead, but the bartender said it got pretty hoppin on weekend nights. Samples are $1.50 each and you can order as many or as few as you want. The bartender was friendly and chatty, but again, there weren’t many people in the bar. Great place that’s just a quick walk from Flying Saucer. Definitely worth stopping in. | | Bart (74), Brussels, Belgium | | October 28, 2011 Huge place with a nice vibrant athmosphere, even on Wednesday evenings. Decent pub food. Friendly service, and some pretty good beer (better than the once’s from Boylan Bridge brewpub a little bit further). Selection of about 12-15 home brewed beers (brewed in Raleigh or Greensborro) Overall a must visit place if you are in the neighbourhood. | | DukeBrewDevil (36), Chapel Hill, North Carolina | | January 14, 2011 I stopped by here for a couple quick drinks with a group as part of our Raleigh brewery tour. We did not eat, so I can’t speak to the food. The first thing that hit me when I walked in was how huge this place is. To the left is a large dining/drinking area with a bunch of tables (maybe a bar?), then to the right is another big area with tables and a large bar. Off that is yet another large space, this the more casual area with shuffleboard, pool tables, arcade games, etc. Everything is wood. Very nice looking place. Our waiter was attentive and even nailed our whole order, which got complicated as we took advantage of being able to order good sized sample glasses. The beer list was all their own stuff with around a dozen offerings, give or take. My group tried about half of them and everyone enjoyed what they had. The beers aren’t often unique or "world class" but they were good and perfectly well-crafted. If I lived closer, I’d love to hang out at this place regularly. | KajII (3), Macon, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | November 7, 2010 [ Updated January 14, 2011 ] The food was very good as were the beers, but the service was horrible. Although when I contacted the management they did apologize and did everything to make it right. I will definetly give it another chance. But 1st impressions go a long way. (1st Rating was a 50)
Ok went back and as like before the beers and food were awesome. The service this time was fantastic, and the staff was great, thumbs up for this place |
