| BiddleBrau (58), Fort Washington, Pennsylvania | | March 20, 2012 Maybe not the biggest section for beer but always a good selection. Whether you’re going in with a specific need or looking for something new, Ramsey is a good place to check out. Nice selection from the beer hot spots including a nice focus on Belgians and West Coast. Friendly staff. | | emtrexx (11), Milford, Connecticut | | September 26, 2011 Without meaning to be repetitive but this place has their con: it’s shabby from the outside, not a lot of space allocated for beer, and the price tag for the beer. With that said, think of it as a diamond in the rough. It never gets congested in the aisles, the (vast) selection will not disappoint and there is always someone asking if you need any help finding something. I still rate the "value" of RL high because the price to selection ratio is still worthwhile.
Unrelated: they have a top-notch Port selection. | | j12601 (214), Poughkeepsie, New York | | January 15, 2011 Third store stop of the day and this one did not disappoint. The sake selection was quite nice, but most were just a bit too high end for my budget so this time we didn’t leave with a bunch of sake (unlike the last two shops), but instead managed to find some nice beers that the last two didn’t have. Really good selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Worth a stop. | | koopa (13), , New Jersey | | May 28, 2010 Ramsey Liquors is my Northern NJ Beer Store of Choice. Its about 10 minutes from my work so I tend to swing over there during lunch breaks to pick up bottles to take home.
The store looks like a total dive from outside as its in a strip mall and the door doesn’t face straight out towards the front parking lot. Lots of stickers and posters all over the windows so it just kinda looks crappy from the outside.
Once you get inside you see a fairly expansive non-chain liquor store. Lots of nice choices for all types of wine and spirits. Staff is very friendly and each person tends to have different strengths / knowledge.
Matt is the guy you need to talk to if shopping for Beer. The beer section in the back left corner consists of a nice selection of domestic micros, lots of european imports, and lots of macros.
Prices are expensive (22oz bombers range from $3.99 - $12.99....750ml bottles range from $6.99 - $29.99)
Here is a small sample of some of the US Micros and Belgians they carry: (plus they have a full wall of English Beer, Germans, etc.)

Reviewed on: 09-06-2008 | | vtafro (24), Wayne, New Jersey | | September 29, 2009 Best selection of beer locally, with some rarities and solid beers as well. Prices are very good considering the selection. Worth a trip if your close. | | kennydiaz (23), staten island, New York | | April 20, 2009 They had a nice selection of beers but everything was in the back bunched together. The helpers were very eager to recommend some decent beers. I was disappointed because they did not have shopping carts and I picked out at least 2 cases of bombers plus some liquor and not one of the 4 employees offered to help me to the car. They had a nice selection of southern tier, Belgians and specialty beers but overall a little bit of waste since I went out the way to get there. | BluesBrews (1), , Alabama does not count - explanation | | September 2, 2008 This place has a wide selection of 6 packs from US micros and their German section has grown. Lots of big bottles from US micros, a good amount of German bottles and a growing section of English bottles. Knowledgeable staff for the most part. Definitely the best place in Bergen County, NJ to shop for beer. | | yobdoog (94), Woodridge NY, New York | | February 6, 2008 I stop in here often on my way through on Jersey 17. They always have a great selection of sixers, and have a nice area for bigger bottles. Pretty good prices ususally and people who are willing to help you if you need it. They usually get new releases which is a plus. Breweries like Mikkeler, Southern Tier, they even carry some FFF on certain occasions, and tehy sell Troegs too. These are just a few because they have a ton of imports as well and tend to get some magnums and Jeraboams of some things. Generally I find something here. | jblendy (8), Hawthorne, New Jersey does not count - explanation | | August 14, 2006 [ Updated April 14, 2009 ] Nice selection (singles and six packs), quick rotation (sometimes too quick), but way overpriced. Matt the resident beer expert is pretty knowledgeable, but the rest of the staff are not so friendly. Decent amount of ratebeer tags. | altkencru (8), does not count - explanation | | November 3, 2005 One of my favorite places to buy beer. Overall a good selection of good beers, a little spotty on German beers though. This is the only place I know of that sells the Aventinus liquor. Good assortment of English beers too. |
