82 Great looking old timey place in the heart of the historic district. Great list of Craft Beers! Stopped in twice while in town. During the week mid afternoon not very crowed just the way I like it so I can sit at bar enjoying great Beers and talk to the bartender. We had a great time. |
84 Visited on 8th November 2019. Large bar in downtown Rapid City. Place was busy when we arrived but managed to find a perch. Nice beer related decor. Huge array of draft beers from across SD plus more exotic stuff from US. Good range of cans and bottles. No small pours but staff happy to provide a taster. Prices were decent enough. Liked this place. |
76 major league bar making the best of what they get in a town of 72000 but very tourist filled. very friendly environment and good taps on including some decent locals. my 49th state beer drunk. |
84 A pretty nice place to go for a craft beer and pizza. Parking was fairly easy and there was a wide variety of beer here. |
84 Stopped in for a takeout pizza, ended up with two, and had a few pints during the wait. Quite a nice selection so I left with a growler full too. Barkeep was quite friendly and patient while I went through the list. Worth a stop if you're in RC. |
84 This seems to be THE beery place in Rapid City. In the middle of downtown, not sure about parking and there's no Uber here, but it was walking distance from my hotel (pure coincidence). Generic downtown business appearance, large long bar on the left and a bunch of restaurant tables. Downstairs is cozier, and there's a second bar there. Taplists on TV screens in multiple places. Barman John was very helpful, knowledgeable and generous with the samples, even without asking. Taplist is large and varied with a handful of local beers and stuff from neighboring states. Pours were 12 or 16 ounces. Flights would have been great, but having samples available was the next best thing. Guy next to me had about 8 samples before settling on one.
Pizza was flatbread style and looked very tasty but I had already eaten. Great place. |
88 Honestly, you could close your eyes and never know you were not at a great craft beer bar in any major U.S. city. Gorgeous woodwork in a large room with a high ceiling. Superior lineup of regional breweries, along with a handful of foreign imports and respectable choices from the important coasts (California, Oregon and Michigan). Huge central chalkboard plus video screens to help guide your beer selections. Friendly, knowledgeable and attractive bartenders. Dining lineup looked decent but we wanted to try Tally’s Silver Spoon down the street (and weren’t disappointed, though its beer list was very limited). Don’t miss it on the way to Mount Rushmore. |
92 Ok, my rating may be high but my wife and I had the best time here. We went into the basement which was cozy and comfortable. Beer selection is excellent, pizza was very enjoyable, and the service was unsurpassed. We sat for hours and just soaked in the rest. We will definitely come back. |
78 This is an attractive pub in downtown Rapid City. The beers on tap during our visit were mostly Odell and Deschutes (including The Abyss!) with two local beers from Crow Peak. The bottle list was decent, with a fair selection from Belgium, including about 15 sour/lambics. While there were no really unusual offerings, it was still an impressive list of draft and bottles, given the rather remote location. Pizza is the only food option, but they are inventive pies. The one we had was very good. A huge negative for this place is that the beers are only available in full size pours (16 oz for most). This makes it impossible to sample many of the beers they have on tap. That’s a pity. |
90 I must say for SD this place is pretty impressive. Located in downtown Rapid City with ample parking. Lots of brick and wood in this place with dim lighting. Great service and good pizza for this part of the country. Very nice draft list with mostly reagonal stuff and a few nice special releases. Must stop. |
