| fata2683 (125), Tucson, Arizona | | June 18, 2011 Great place right off of 422 in the middle of the city. Really nice selection but due to crap PA beer laws, everything is sold by the case so plan accordingly. | butkus (1), does not count - explanation | | November 26, 2010 Overrated watch what you buy a lot of cases are dated especially the belgiums. Mike the owner is snub , does not even have the courtesy to say hello just looks down at you from the edge of his hanging glasses. Pay $2-$5 else where for freshness and service | | TreborWhip (19), Reading, Pennsylvania | | August 26, 2009 Pretty good selection of American craft brews, German, Belgian, and other European countries. They even had Rochefort Trappist, however, a 12-pack of 11.2 ounce bottles was $69.99 plus tax. Typical of Pennsylvania where you have to buy everything by the case, 12-pk, or 6-pk. | beermethatdisc (1), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | June 28, 2009 Hands down, the best place to go for beer in Berks County! HUGE selection, both domestic and imported. Feel very at home there and comfortable with staff. A true gem of Berks County. If they don’t have what you want, then let them know.. trust me, they will order it! | BOBtheBEERguy (1), does not count - explanation | | June 22, 2007 Great selection of micro brews and imports. The prices are really nice too. A lot of good microbrews under $30 a case. | | maltdog (68), Colorado | | November 27, 2006 I stock up here on my annual trips to Reading. Craft brew sampler cases are a great idea, and the selection is tenfold of any beer store in TN or GA. Excellent prices as well, IMO. Probably 80%+ of the US craft beers are from the mideast or northeast... almost nothing from the west coast, or south of VA. I don’t recall ever seeing staff step outside of the cashier’s booth (which is fine), and it’s often difficult to locate the case cost on the hanging price posters. Large inventory of "exotic" Belgian, German, and Asian imports (and fewer UK); many of these I am sure are well over a year old... I have seen regional "seasonal" beers that had been released eleven months before. Still, I would be content to browse for an hour. Small "gift packs" of Belgian and Belgian-style ales (eg: 3-liter magnums of Mad Elf) on top of the cooler during winter months. Complimentary brewspapers and sometimes beer posters. Fun to visit, well worth it. | jack6289 (1), does not count - explanation | | September 29, 2006 I am a regular Beer Mart customer and I have had a great experience every time I have been there. I shop around for the best selection and best price, just like every other consumer. I always end up back at Beer Mart to buy my micros and imports. They have the best selection of any distributor that I have been to. The service is great, if I can’t find what I’m looking for the guys up front or the girls at the counter can point me in the right direction. They seem to work hard to have the largest selection of beer in berks county, I’m guessing it’s pne of the largest in PA. They just want you to enjoy beer! | PagodaMedia (1), West Lawn, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | September 29, 2006 I shop at Beer Mart. It’s great because I can pick up domestics for my friends and also pick up a couple cases of great Belgians or micro brews for myself. They do beer tastings which is cool. I just recently went to pick up a case and tried some new beer from a local brewery that was excellent. I would recommend Beer Mart. The staff is nice but they don’t bother you too much which I like. I want to take my time if I am buying beer. | | biznizness (25), Mooresville, North Carolina | | January 26, 2006 Good selection, one of the best in the area (as mentioned in the other ratings). But the selection is not GREAT, the staff certainly isn’t, and the building itself leaves something to be desired. I work right down the street from here but I usually end up waiting until I am in the Lehigh Valley to stop at Shangy’s or Tanczo’s. | MattShizzle (5), Bernville, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | June 16, 2005 [ Updated February 11, 2006 ] Best place to get beer without driving for more than an hour for me. Definitely best in Berks. Yeah, you do have to look for help if you need it. Great selection. Also need to check dates - there are often expired cases. Also, if you go at opening time, they almost NEVER open on time. |
