Canal Street is very hit or miss. Table service is usually very slow...I prefer to sit at the bar. If they are hosting an event like a wedding in the ballroom don't even bother...2 bartenders trying to cover a wedding and pubs means long waits and the kitchen will be slammed. Its a shame because Canal Street used to be great.

Pretty cool place, nice ambiance. Decent prices and selection. Odd part of town but as a parking lot.

Lot of beers on tap, and a good selection. If you sit at the bar the service usually really sucks. Pub grub is pretty good, nothing to write home about but good.

Nice pub near the river. Always has interesting ales to choose from. Although the taps are slightly less than other craft beer establishments, they have quality ales and don’t waste their time with "junk" beers. Have not eaten there so I can’t comment on the food. The bar staff appeared knowledgable and proper glassware was used.

Very big place that a had a really cool vibe, which was really weird considering it was in Reading. Good food and service with good prices to match. About 12 taps, including firkins, and easily 150+ bottles. Very good place for craft beer and any bottle can be bought to go. A must stop if you are in Reading.

Nice place in Reading for bottled or draft beer. Decent food and prices. I’m afraid the Liberty taproom is going to vastly outdo this place but it’s nice to have options.

What a find! I was looking to go to the Legacy Brewery to see if they had a tasting room and found that this bar was on top of the brewery. Walked in and was floored with the smell of hops from downstairs. The beer list was admirable with about 50 bottles, 3/4 of which were bottles bigger than 12oz. They had about 12 quality beers on tap with a hint of what they were tapping in the future. If you are a beer drinker and happen to be in Reading (lol), check it out!

Basically, this is the tap house for Legacy Brewing (but this is not a Legacy brewpub), but they have a number of other micros on tap, and a decent bottle selection. Their selection isn’t huge, but is quality. I had a Founders Centennial IPA and a Bear Republic Big Black Bear while there. The food was decent. I’ve only ever been there for lunch, so I don’t know how crowded it gets, but I can’t imagine it gets packed. As, the place is huge. The service has always bee good.

Glad to see that Canal Street finally has its feet on the ground. Even at a strange hour (3:30 PM), there were a smattering of customers with more filtering in. Old factory building exposed brick, wood, high ceilings, all very tasteful. Spacious yet intimate. An eclectic selection of ten or so superb draft beers (well, I dunno about the resurrected Reading Premium). Surprised that only three of the Legacy beers brewed downstairs were available at the bar. Keg pressures were a bit low- the beers we enjoyed all featured only a cask ale effervescence. Pretty incredible bottled beer selection… whoever is in charge of buying beer knows his or her shit. Not a macro, or a TV (Hooray!) in sight. Although not beer-saavy, the bartender (who described Euphoria, a BSA, as a “triple white”) was very friendly and efficient. All bottles are also available to go. Very nice experience, and probably one of the best beer bars I’ve been to.
