This place is a dive that happens to have an okay selection of beers. It is small run down and frankly a bit scary. At least the bartender was cool, but why do people keep entering places like this, there are a thousand bars like this, who cares.

This is an out of the way place...in an out of the way neighborhood...in an out of the way city (Reading is not really on the way anywhere, and that’s why it seems cool to me). Sort of irregular hours kept it closed until Wednesday of the week, but it as worth the wait. This is a tiny place filled with intricately inlaid tile art on the walls and some interesting stuff hanging about (lots o’ Elvis and Tom Jones). There is a sort of mezzanine sitting area that is similarly filled with original artwork. The locals are real friendly and proud to share their gem with interesed beer geeks (Hey, Alan). The selection was sort of limited but well chosen. Interesting Victory selection: Hand pumped brown, a fresh-hopped Pils, and a puckeringly bitter Hop-Wallop. Magic Hat was on several handles. Decent looking bottle selection. Interesting to see Bell’s K stout. Appently Bell’s is a frequent hand pump guest too. Most definitely worth seeking out, even if Reading can be a bit tough to navigate.
