78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 womencantsail (392) Garbage Grove, California | August 3, 2012 I’ve stopped in here a couple times as it’s just down the street from GHS. Typical Whole Paycheck store, good selection of beer, but nothing that will blow you away. They used to do discounted singles of old beer stock, but stopped doing that a couple years ago. Still, not a bad place to swing by and grab a couple bottles. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 18/20 mrhoppy (115) Santa Clara, California | July 5, 2009 The best Whole Foods I have been to. Great selection. Allowed to take singles. Great food bars. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 Berserkir (10) New York | August 15, 2008 About the same beer selection as any Whole Foods, but they have a few surprises on occasion. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 golubj (7) San Mateo, California | July 27, 2008 For the most part, this just has a normal beer selection. However, they do get special seasonal beers in: Deschutes XX, 20th Anniv. among others. The guy in charge of the beer section also seemed to be trying to get more great beers for the store, so that is good. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 ervan (5) Redwood City, California | September 20, 2005 My beer provider of choice. Excellent, all-chilled. They have the good craft standards, imports and still manage to rotate a few every couple of weeks to bring out some new great ones. Seem to be very seasonally appropriate as well. Nice place; nice people and you can snag some organic food to go with your beer. Also recognize the new beer + food pairing that surpasses wine pairings. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 ElGaucho (207) Minnetonka, Minnesota | June 27, 2005 This Whole Foods Market store has quickly overtaken the Beverages and More that is a half mile south on El Camino for carrying special beers. Bevmo may still have a wider selection, but when I went to both this past Saturday, it was Whole Foods that had Arrogant Bastard and Stone Vertical Epic, as well as several Bear Republic bombers. Bevmo had neither and to my recollection had no bombers at all. Whole Foods further distinguishes itself by allowing you to break up six-packs. For $1.99, unless otherwise marked, any beer they carry is available in single bottles. Now that is what I’m talking about! |
