| Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | April 7, 2012 Large selection, mostly bombers and 750s, plus four packs and six packs. Only a small number of small singles, avialable as a "build your own six pack" for $10.99. | jaybo99 (7), Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | August 12, 2011 Well presented selection of small single bottles and six-pack collections of imported and domestc craft beers. Some selections are spotty (e.g., Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout - "we used to have that one", Chimay blue-top but not red, Fuller’s London Pride but not ESB, etc.) Good location for West End, and ample free parking. | | adam42381 (30), Fort Myers, Florida | | September 15, 2010 I would highly recommend this place. Went with some friends while on a weekend trip to Busch Gardens (we needed some good beer after being force-fed the Anheuser-Busch swill all weekend). The selection was very good especially for the size of the store. The service was top notch. They allow you to build your own six packs. I can’t remember the prices exactly but they were very reasonable. Much more personal experience versus shopping at a large store like Total Wine (which I really like but it’s not the same). If you’re in the Richmond area you should definitely check this place out. | | potbeercollege (20), Boulder, Colorado | | September 20, 2009 By my sister and brothers house. great mix six pack selection and fairly interesting bombers. | | zizzybalubba (68), Elizabeth City, North Carolina | | April 30, 2009 Stopped in here recently while visiting Richmond. Very good beer selection though not quite as good as Once Upon A Vine. The prices were generally cheaper, however. A very good beer store. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | November 1, 2008 BIG beer selection here, with a smallish singles selection (build your own 6-pack for 10.99). Nice selection in terms of quality and variety. Staff not helpful but still friendly. Ambience is strip mall but still halfway decent inside for the setting. I could see parking being an issue, but it wasn’t bad while I was there. Prices are decent. | hoppyhops (1), does not count - explanation | | May 5, 2008 Top shelf! I just moved to Richmond and happy to finally find a real brew shop. Great selection and better yet...excellent service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff (Learn something new everytime). Def. reccommend checking out the Friday evening tastings to sample diff. beer/wine. Always a great experience!!!! | MOOK4VT (3), does not count - explanation | | April 2, 2008 Great selection overall especially if you are looking for American Microbrews (and a wide selection of belgians). They feature a wine and beer tasting session every Friday afternoon which is a great way to try new beers. The staff is certainly knowledgable and won’t steer you wrong. And its a great place to go to refill the kegorater...as long as they distribute to the area... | | Butters (164), Richmond, Virginia | | January 14, 2008 [ Updated February 2, 2010 ] This store now has a good ’mix your own 6-pack’ of singles available in the area. At least a variety of 80+ micro’s to choose from. I believe for about $12.
I just had to rerate this place after going back. The selection is still good for the richmond market i suppose. But the customer service and beer knowledge has vastly improved. Can’t say much for the other employees, but the scrawny guy definitely has a passion for beer. And has quite a bit of knowledge to back it up. He also totally hooked me up today when I came by. Not only did he break up two sixers of good, moderately expensive beer, and sell me a mix pack below the 6-pack price, he threw in a bottle of hopslam from the back room! I will certainly be shopping here again. | JoePaNation (1), Glen Allen, Virginia does not count - explanation | | July 22, 2007 This store has a very nice beer selection and it is growing consistently. Craft Beer seems to be the focus of this store vs wine that is featured at most other wine and beer stores. Selection of Belgians is impressive. Also has some beers that others don’t carry such as Bell’s. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Only knock is a lack of build your own singles six packs. Store location is good, easy in and out. |
