| nevets4433 (26), , | | October 29, 2011 Nice grocery...but a bit too hippy. They do have a nice beer selection which has recently been expanded. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. | | nbublick (11), , | | October 1, 2011 Pleasant place to go on the way home. Good weekday beers, nothing off the charts | | tia (33), Sandston, Virginia | | July 24, 2011 The beer selection is small but decent for it’s size. Staff is helpful. The hot bar is great for a grocery store. Prices are a little higher than average for the area. I go here when I’m tired and need to eat (something plausibly healthy) and want to grab a sixer to take home and don’t feel like going out of my way. | | promtheus (23), Virginia | | April 10, 2011 Smallish beer selection, but those available are pretty good. The store itself has a bit of a pretentious feel to it...the local organic vegetarian hippy flair is a bit much, and the prices could be better, but it is a decent place to grab a craft beer if you are in a pinch. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | June 8, 2009 Located close to River City Cellars. Parking lot is a bit tricky to get into from the street, but there is plenty of parking. Medium sized natural foods market. I doubt there are 80 bottles available, but there is a smattering of Virginia, American and foreign beer. I may have missed it, but I don’t recall seeing any macros. Nice people, and they answered another customer’s question very well for not being a beer store. Worth a stop to see what they have if you have the time. | | maniac (98), Baltimore, Maryland | | June 28, 2008 This is a specialty market, seems to focus on the vegetarian and vegan market quite heavily. They’ve a fairly decent beer selection in the back though. I’ve found a few odd beers here that I’ve not seen at other local stores. From what I’ve heard this was the original place to get craft beer in Richmond before the city branched out into craft beer as much as it did. | | Butters (164), Richmond, Virginia | | February 11, 2008 Small natural market at the top of Carytown. Not a real emphasis on beer but a more implressive selection of craft brews than you’d typically expect to find in a grocery story. They have about a dozen belgians that are located separately from the rest of the microbrews. Competitive prices. Didn’t try the food but there were LOTS of people around the buffet. The perfect place for the vegetarian/beer lover. |
