March 1, 2012 Very unique place with great ambiance and generally very friendly staff. A decent variety of European beer. Not really sure why, but sometimes there is a funky smell to the place. Food is hit or miss and a bit overpriced, but there isn’t a better place to watch soccer (football) in Richmond. Trivia nights are fun as well. |

November 22, 2011 The ambiance at Penny Lane is unmatched by any other bar or restaurant in Richmond. Period. Beer selection is a case of quality over quantity. Breakfast is excellent, especially when paired with a Half and Half and World Cup soccer |

May 29, 2011 This is unique place in Richmond. An English pub in downtown Richmond. I was there with a friend form Denver to watch the Champions League Finals on May 28. The place was empty 2 hours prior to the match. At game time the stout was flowing and the bar was 3 deep. They have a few Irishales and 6 English and Scotish ales. The food was good, but maybe a little high. The atmosphere was outstanding. |

February 26, 2011 Only Brits do a British pub properly, and this Scouse haven was like being back in Blighy. |

January 27, 2011 What brings you to Penny Lane is the old Enlish pub vibe. Drinking a pint and watching the football (Uk version). The bartenders and staff are seasoned vets of the pub scene and know how to sling the beer. |

August 16, 2010 A real find for anyone seeking Fuller’s Porter, which is plentiful at the Penny Lane. A comfortable (maybe too cute for it’s own good) British pub located downtown. Small and dim bar area downstairs with additional space above. The place is bedecked with scads of Beatles memorabilia as well. Great bangers and mash makes everything great. Save the airfare to Liverpool; just go to the corner of Franklin and 4th. |

May 17, 2010 Good restaurant. The food is a bit of a gouge, but there are a good selection of English draughts that are rarer at other bars. The trivia nights can be absolutely hilarious, and the outdoor patio is really nice. |

July 9, 2008 Penny Lane is a great little pub in downtown Richmond to go to for an English beer, to catch a football match, or to play trivia on certain nights of the week. The owner is great and the family-owned restuarant has a great selection of food and great service. Recommend the fish and chips. |

April 4, 2008 Where else can you go in the area to get this kind of atmosphere with a real English beer selection? Unfortunately, I haven’t had the food yet. I loved it and will be back. Warning: too much Liverpool paraphernalia, the upstairs loo smells of piss, and you may not want to leave. |

February 8, 2008 Stopped in to try a few english pints with a local friend. (He has been to the old place, before it was moved) Good atmosphere, really liked the downstairs. reminded me abouts pubs overseas when i was in the service. A somewhat limited selection of beers, all good english and scottish beers, all where pints. Did not try the food. A really good place to relax and enjoy a good cigar along with a few pints. Upstairs consisted of dartboards and poker tables. I will be comming back and visiting this pub. |
