Excellent selection - counted 16 Brewdog (including Tactical Nuclear Penguin) and 33 Mikkeller beers last time. This is definitely impressive for the Baltics! Very friendly and knowledgable staff - gave me good advice on what to drink and when I loaded a couple of cases into my trunk the next day to take home, even gave me free glasses. The place is OK to sit in, but not great - just a few tables and no real bar ambiance. So it’s mostly a shop, not so much a bar.

20 taps are enough for a beer place to stand out. Fuller’s London Porter real cask ale, De Ranke Saison De Dottignies and XX Bitter is the certificate for a must visit pub. However, the ambience is neuter, many tourists, the stuff is without beer culture and finally is pricier than the little bro.

Normally I would have rated this as one of the top bars in Riga, but, after the debacle this evening (Saturday, December 10), I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. The service tonight was simply appalling, with the two barmen roundly ignoring us when we tried to pay the bill, and, when we dared complain, we were told to ’go somewhere else’. Strongest possible recommendation to avoid.

This was by far our favourite bar in Riga. Around 20 lines primarily from Latvia and Belgium. Great selection with De Ranke Saison De Dottignies and XX Bitter on permanently! Excellent traditional food also. I can especially recommend the fried Aubergine with mushroom sauce, unreal! If your in Riga, you’ve got to try this place. Not bad prices on bottled beers with a nice selection, specialising in Belgian, Danish and Scottish ales.

Lovely bright space with two large patios out front. A pretty impressive 20+lines dispensing a selection of beers from across Europe, including some Belgians, a few local Latvian products, and some British stuff as well. Service outside wasna bit slow, but they were slammed, so I’m not sure I can fault them for it. The inside is pretty nice too - medium brown coloured wood backing a long bar in one of the more touristy areas of the city. A great change from all the pale lages on offer elsewhere throughout the city.

An excellent and very welcome addition to the Riga beer scene. The shop sells beers slightly cheaper than what they cost in the bar, but it’s worth sitting in the very pleasant bar for a few as well. I had a pint of cask London Porter (Fuller’s) and some De Ranke XX Bitter and both were on fine form. Well worth visiting. The best place in town by far.

De Ranke XX Bitter on tap. That’s all you need to know. If there’s none left, it’s because I drank it all. Little that I can add to Bryne’s review. He didn’t mention the 2 tellies, showing different sports channels, but that’s about it. Easy to find off to the left of Doms Laukums. Really world-class beer venue, leading the pack in the Baltic states currently.

Best beer bar in Riga. Situated in one of Rigas many fine buildings in a busy tourist street. A brand new pub and beer store which opened just a few days before we by chance found this fantastic place. You can buy beer bottles in the adjacent little beer store and drink them in the pub. I think you can ask the staff to put them in the fridge a little bit. The pub has a long bar counter with about 18 taps and one cask ale - Fullers London Porter. Most taps are Belgian, English and Latvians. In the beer store you will find more from Belgium, England, Scottland, Germany and Ireland(Porterhouse) You can also eat, but the menu is quite average - go for the beers! (Visited April 30th 2011)
