Department store, most likely the first thing you see when exiting the bus from the airport. Quite nice for shopping a bit, but don’t expect too much in terms of beer. Good for cheap and/or Latvian beers, with even a decent amount of foreign beers (if compared to the local competition). Haven’t encountered anything especially brilliant though. Good place though if you are a beer ticker or from a country where beer is much more expensive.

A department store between the bus station and railroad station/ORIGO Shopping Mall. It has a fantastic deli counter and also a good selection of Latvian beers. International beers mostly from Belgium, Germany and Russia. (Visited April 30th 2011)

Very godd selection of latvian beers. Maybe 25-30 international bottles as weel.

An excellent range of Latvian bottled beers and some interesting foreign beers too. Reasonably priced beers for a department store and there were not any long queues when I went there which was another bonus for me.

Fine selection of Latvian beer, all you need of food, too. Reasonable prices.

Range of Latvian beers better than most other shops, but far from complete (I guess 50 from the 100 Latvian beers we’re aware of). Tallinn’s Rimi has a larger range of international beers though.

Very central location, with a decent selection of Latvian beers (most of them pale or amber lagers, though). The grocery store with beer is on the ground floor. The café on the top floor has decent food at reasonable prices, and a bar with a few beers (and Armenian brandy!).

Close to the Station, this massive place sells almost everything including a huge range of beers - not all Latvian, there are Belgian and Russian here too - for reasonable prices. A good place to stock up at cheap prices and maybe the biggest beer range in the Baltics? Try also Rimi supermarket, Stacijas laukums 2 (ground floor of the rail station complex), for a complementary range.
