There really isn’t a better place to go for craft beer in the Rockford area. Ever since I discovered it back in August 2011, The Oasis has quickly become one of my favorite places and I try to make it there once a week. So this will be an extensive review based on several visits from someone local to the area. Ambiance: The Oasis is a pretty small place in general but that’s not entirely a bad thing. What it lacks in space it makes up for in coziness. There some pretty cool art on the walls as well as a small fireplace. The only real issue is how crowded it can seem on busier night. Service: The servers are great. They are super friendly, easy to have a chat with, and they know their beer. Their personalities are a good fit for the atmosphere of the bar. Most importantly, they are always ready to pour you another drink. Selection: Not only are there around 20 taps but they seem to change their offerings multiple times a week. As often as I go there, I don’t think there has ever been a time where I’ve had all the beers on the menu. If that isn’t good enough, they also have a huge selection of take home bottles at a very reasonable price. Food: While they don’t actually prepare any food in house, you can get food delivered there from Uncle Nick’s across the street. Nothing fancy, but for what it is, it’s damn tasty. Always hits the spot after a few beers. Value: Awesome. The prices usually range from $3 to $7. But the only beers you will usually see for $6 and $7 are Tripels and Quads, which is to be expected. As I said before, their take home bottles are also reasonably priced. Food is also pretty cheap, but I think it’s a little cheaper to walk across the street and order yourself. Overall: I love this place. Not much more I could say besides that if you like good beer and live or travel to Rockford you have to check it out.

A freind if mine frequents this place on a weekly basis,From the outside it looks like a dive but to my amazement it was rather warm and cozie,on the day we went the bartender was a hot for teacher beauty, some of the beers were Stone Escondidian,11-11-11,,Breakfast Stout,Rouge Double chocolate SA Double Pumpkin for the Rockfird area, you won’t find a better tap list, and the do sell bombers and 6 packs to go With Nicks place for food since, he owns this place also and from what my buddy has told me Buck is TheGuy

This place is a hidden gem. You wouldn’t know to look at it from the outside...and if you find your way in you wouldn’t know it from first glance inside...but this place carries some quality beers from brewers like Founders - and at incredibly great prices. It’s decor is like the Regal Beagle but the great craft beers selection is definitely this century.

I frequent this place often. It is small and a little dated but that make it a cozy place to drink beer. They have a rotating selection and all of them are priced very nice between 3-8 dollars a pint. For Rockford, this is a great place for Micro Brewed beer. Good thing I am able to walk home from there :)

I have always driven past this place on my way to Carlyle and it wasn’t until recently that I saw it finally open for business again after being closed for a few months earlier this year. Not much to look at from the outside as both the exterior and the areas for parking seem like prime places to get raped and stabbed. Once you enter through the side door a very clean, cozy place lies in wait. A large copper mural behind the bar depicts a Don Quixote scene. Bartenders are very friendly and know quite a bit about the brews and are readily willing and qualified to help you choose if need be. Fast on the delivery of beer and the selection is probably the best in town (Old Chicago is the only other one that has a wider range of brews but not near the quality and rarity). When I was there on 8/13/2010, they had a 1/4 barrel of Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout on tap for $6 a glass (limit 1 per person). Prices are extremely fair considering most of the beer they carry are generally $8+ a 22oz bottle. Seating is kinda limited. Around 16 taps there and each table has a detailed menu of what is on tap. Food looks to be Uncle Nicks menu - gyros, italian sausage, italian beef, cheese fries and the like. I had a few buddies who normally shy away from good brews actually enjoy a couple from the tap. Overall a very nice place and I could see this place being really kick ass with a roaring fire and great beer during a cold snowy winter day after an Ice Hogs game or on snow day. Can’t wait to get back there again.

Oasis just reopened after a couple of months. A couple of friends and I stopped in on a Friday evening. To honor the reopening, they had all taps, 16 or so, for $3. Tap selection was very good. 90 minute, the Csar Imperial Sout, Ranger IPA, just to name a few. They removed some of the "booths" they had before which allows more light in. The fireplace was going which made for a nice atmosphere. Service was solid, three people behind the bar for the crowd. Comfortable bar stools are a plus as well. Hard to find a better beer selection in Rockford.
